Blown away at the fit and finish of this pickguard. Nothings perfect when dealing with 50 year old guitars, but this product is dang close. Age it to your liking - focus on other aspects of the project. This is a time and money saver. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. * * * * *

Replaced a warped pickguard on a '72 Competition Mustang with this one. The pickup holes, the switch holes, and the screw holes line up well. The pickguard slightly overlaps the metal surround of the volume and tone knobs. I trimmed it a little with a roto-tool, and it looks great.

I got this pickguard to fit a Squier Classic Vibe Mustang - which I assume is basically identical to the Squier VM Mustang. Everything fits, except for these modifications:1. the fit between the pickguard and the control plate is about 1/8” off. I got a Dremel and cut this extra bit of pickguard off and sanded it to fit exactly. You can sand or cut this off with whatever method you prefer, but be careful!2. I had to sand a little from the edge where it meets the bridge plate.3. I also had to sand a tiny bit from the pickguard’s neck pocket cut.All of this can be done with sandpaper and a little patience! The pickup cutouts are fine, but the cutouts for the switches are higher than the original. But don’t worry - the switches still fit inside the body perfectly.Of course, the screw holes are going to be off. Two of them still lined up, but I drilled new holes for the rest of them. (This is usual with aftermarket pickguards.)It may seem like a lot of work, but I did all of it in about an hour and a half. It’s worth it for a nice pickguard for an attractive price! Fast shipping too!
