I've tried this model of Airguide compass twice, hoping that the first one that leaked out all the fluid was just a fluke. I really liked this compass and the fact that it's adjustable for the magnetic personality of your own car's dashboard and your geographic location. But, I suspect that heat from the sun coming through the windshield causes pressure build-up and failure of the seal. If this compass were always parked in the shade, I'm sure it would survive for a long time.

The product is not adequate to use on a small boat.it can not be secured with the suction cups and is not easy to calibrate.fortunately it was cheap. Will probably will try to use it on a bicycle,

I've had this mounted on my dash of my Jeep for some time now. It works like a charm. Love it. I always know which direction to go now.

If you are directionally challenged, as I am, this is a big help.Salem OR has a lot of streets that curve around, so you start in one direction and end up going another. It has helped me navigate unfamiliar terrain.

I bought this as a low cost marine compass for kayaking. My requirements are limited - no adjustment is needed for sheet metal, automotive electronics, etc. I deeply sympathize with all the reviewers who had issues with 'truing' the compass using the internal calibration feature. I ultimately removed the magnetic compensators so I could at least get a reliable reading based on 'magnetic north'.For purposes of providing an indication of direction, standing up to salt water and not breaking the bank, it works just fine. If I was concerned about precision or durability, I'd be inclined to pay (much) more for another product.

Given its inexpensive price, you can't go wrong. It's not crappy like some of its competitors in its price-range. It's cheaper than a GPS navigational device, that's for damn sure, I sure as hell don't want to spend over a hundred bucks right now for a GPS, not to mention the monthly fees, screw that. I can get bye with this compass and a roadmap, or free directions on a map on the Internet from anywhere to anywhere in the U.S.A., just print it out and go. If this gosh-darned thing doesn't work for you, stick your head out the widow and ask someone for directions, for crying out loud.

This is a good car compass. You have to adjust it with the car running to have it work properly, but that is not hard and it comes with instructions and a tool for the adjustment.I ordered this at my Dad's recommendation. The ones I had bought in stores always reflected South no matter which way I was driving.I could not find this model in stores near my home, so I was happy to order it online.
