Solid tool pretty sure it would work just fine. However I had to return it after having failed to separate cv joint from a shaft. I replaced the whole cv shaft assembly instead of replacing a boot avoiding all that time consuming mess.

As another reviewer has stated: clamp pliers are too large to swing for some cv clamps. Preparing to replace boots on a Volvo S60 and a Lexus GX470, and I don't want any surprises. Will put these to the test and update if necessary.

As a professional automotive technician, I deal with ear clamps on a daily basis. The correct and professional way to clamp axle shaft boots and steering rack bellows is with single ear type cinch clamps. The difficulty of these style clamps is access when in the vehicle. This tool is a convenient alternative when using clamp pliers is not an option. The force is applied by a forcing screw instead of squeezing pliers. The clamp arrives in a small, plain cardboard box with the tool wrapped in plastic. Fit and finish of the clamp tool is very nice. The tool looks and feels high quality and works well. Just like any tool though, it has it's place and may not always be the best choice depending on your specific application. The price is great and the quality is excellent. I give this 5 stars.

I had installed some CV clamps on one side of my outer CV boot after replacing and using the pliers was a pain to squeeze. Even with leverage, you really need a big boy hand to grip and crunch together your fist. This tool eliminates that with the help of leverage from a bolt and clamp style system. I would recommend spraying some lubricant on the bolt threads beforehand to avoid cross threading as someone else mentioned. I used PB Blaster and had no issues doing the other side of my vehicle. Tossed a hand drill and slowly but surely clamped a band without muscle aches or fuss. Work smarter not harder truly applies here.

First of all, I was shocked at how tiny it was, but it's perfect for those hard to reach areas, and really doesn't need to be any bigger. It binds a little right off the bat, and I would highly recommend hooking a drill to it and spinning the bolt in and out like 10 times to get it smooth, and then grease it. You're welcome.

I've actually needed these on a Toyota Camry before, since I couldn't get my normal pliars in there to pinch the band. This tool will make that job much easier, AND better looking next time.

I needed a small easy to use Banding tool that would fit between the Transmission and mount to Set the two Stainless Bands on the neat "in car" replacement interlocking CV Boot for my 2009 Subaru outback. I ordered the Achilioson CV Axle Boot Band Clamp Tool hoping it would do the trick.Achilioson did a wonderful job with their CV Axle Boot Band Clamp Tool. Their Clamping Tool easily fit in the small area around the inside CV Boot on the left axle making quick work of setting the band. I used axlegrease on the threads of the tool before first use, the High Carbon Steel used to manufacture the tool is very Durable. Clamping the band is easily done with a Ratchet or wrench.I gave the Achilioson CV Axle Boot Band Clamp Tool a Full Five Star Rating Across the Board. It is Small, Durable, Easy to Use, Dependable, and Fits in a Really tight Space to name a few of them. I have used the tool with the Axles Mounted in the car and on Ford Axles that I rebuilt on the bench with no issues whatsoever.

Tool is a little wonky, but lets you apply the extra torque on factory clamps that are pretty tough. I still recommend the pliers type to get an initial "bite" and this as a follow up to really cinch things down. Unless you have the room to use with a power tool, it's quite slow with a wrench.Worked well, the square washer on the rear tend to spin around. Other than that no issues.

Used these during the CV rebuild on my truck. Nice and beefy, had no trouble - way better than pliers that you're never sure you've squeezed hard enough...
