When you first get these they off gas very strongly. You have to put on gloves to take them out of the box, to handle them otherwise the burnt oily rubber smell will stick to your hands and anything they touch. When you remove your gloves leave them outside, it's that bad. That said, these were used to get a hose across my black top driveway to the other side of my yard for irrigation. Since they live outside they work perfectly. If you need these inside a garage i'd recommend leaving them outside in the sun for a few weeks to let them off gas. You can make holes on each side of the track underneath and zip tie a hose. My landscaper races over them with his Stander mowing machine and they barely move. I've had these for a few years and I dont even think about them. So they're doing a good enough job.

THESE THINGS REEEEEK - The smell is intoxicating but like not in a good way like a nice crispy beer - these are more like suffocating from a mere whiff - probably have to let them sit out in the sun for a few WEEKS at least. STRONG ODOR OF PVC AND RUBBER. Oher than that they look very nice.

The only drawback would be they are a little bit heavy and they smell awful

They’re perfect for protecting an electric extension cord over a roadway or driveway. Mine is on a steep asphalt driveway slope so I used a lag screw with a washer in every hole because the ones I had before ripped out due to I didn’t punt enough lag screws in them and a heavy dump truck ripped a few up. But after installing more screws, the dump truck just rolls over it with no damage.

Update 5/18/25: It's been a year since I installed this hose guard. Unbelievably, there is still a strong odor every time I walk near this thing. It looks as new as the day I bought it, so it's rugged and has served the purpose intended very well. But goodness! I can't believe how much it still stinks! I was hoping it would be gone after a long cold winter, but it remains pungent to the end! Thankfully it's in the location that's only used for getting into and out of my fence backyard. So you never just stand there exposed to the stink. Overall I'm very happy with this product, but I would never purchase it if it was for the interior of a garage or other more traditional locations where something like this would be put to use.****The vendor put in the description that their product smells. But wow! It is noxious to the extreme. I'm using it outdoors and while I was working in the general area I could barely tolerate the smell of the rubber. Having said that, it is a high quality product which perfectly satisfies the requirements I had to route garden hoses safely across a pathway. Would definitely buy again, but I hope the noxious odor dissipates in the next couple weeks.

Lots of these kind of things out there but mostly made for extension wires and data wires. I needed a gorilla one that would go over a drain line from my dehumidifier. Line exceeded 1/2 inch dia. This one got the job done. Now drain line is routed to sump well, and this covers the path so the foot traffic won't be tripping over it. And I can go over it with a hand truck when I'm moving equipment. Alll in all, excellent quality and the solution I needed. Black and yellow makes it visible on the bare, polished concrete floor.

This cableway is not only good for protecting cables but also for getting vehicles over ridges in driveways. Depending on the height of your driveway ridge, you can lay down two of these to get about 2" of extra clearance over the ridge. Saves me from bottoming out my new-to-me car on a steep driveway ridge.
