D'addario Nickel Wound are my preferred guitar strings. They seem to hold their brightness longer than other brands I've tried, and they are reliable. I like GHS Boomers for Bass for the same reasons.

These strings have been perfect for me on my Godin A6 and I have never had an issue with the 3rd wound string unraveling as one other reviewer commented on. They are long lasting and sound beautiful through my Fishman Loudbox mini charge. My stringing method is to measure just passed the next tuning machine head, cut at that point, pull the string back so that about 1/8" of string protrudes, and wind with one turn over then the rest under method to secure the string. I then stretch the entire lengths of the strings. Stays in tune. I also use Music Nomad String Fuel after every playing session to prolong the string life and reduce string discoloration.

I like the wound third, and the springy feel of the nickle wound eleven`s.They are great for finger style. Especially if you are like me,and keep your nails cut short, so you can pluck with your finger tips.There`s nothing like the live sound of skin on strings.

Gotta love the 11's with the wound G, holmes. They make my guitar sing over hill and dale. Over the hills and far away. Over the river and through the woods...you get the idea. Bitchin' gauge, doods.

I'm going to 11's with a wound G. I'm tired of my guitars sounding less than what they should be. Nice change. Get your string slots properly widened at both the nut and the bridge and the sound will be a big tonal improvement. I went with the wound G as I really wanted to push a lot of tone out thru the amp.
