I’m a kindergarten teacher and thought this would be a fun way to incorporate following directions with some much needed movement. I was able to test it out in my summer program and the kids LOVED it. I love that it gives the option of two player (so I can give more students a turn in a shorter period of time). It’s easy to use and easy to store as well. It’ll be great for quick movement during the day as well as an option during indoor recess due to inclement weather.

I wanted to try this product with my family child care. My group ranges in age from 2 - 6 years for the summer. We do a lot of music and movement activities and this is one that the kids can do on their own while I am busy with other tasks . The two yr olds liked the freestyle mode of dance and the older kids liked the competitive aspect of the different levels. This will be a great activity for rainy days, cabin fever and anytime they need to be active. We rarely watch tv in my home so this will be a great addition. It is well made and I anticipate using it for years to come.

This kept 4 kids, ages 2-9 entertained for hours. Then they all went to bed before 8pm. Yes, its a little loud but the lowest volume isn't awful. It stores easily and doesn't take up much space. Highly recommend it for a slumber party or summer vacations.

The Co-founder of JoyBerri explains that with five brothers, she was a very active child and it troubled her to see that so many children today are not involved in activities that keep them moving. So she created a line of toys that would get children physically engaged, as well as mentally.This dance mat does just that. The child stands in the center of the mat and the display tells them which number to step on. When they do it right, they get a point and it makes a chiming noise. If they step on the wrong number, it makes a different noise and they do not get a point. It has settings for volume, speed, levels of difficulty and different songs.It does require three AA batteries, which are not included. It does include a small screwdriver to get the battery backing off so you can insert the batteries.This is a toy that may require a little explanation from a parent or older sibling, but once the child knows what to do, I think they will enjoy it for quite a while. Just don't forget the batteries!

I purchased this dance mat as a gift for my grandson for christmas. Getting to review it without him here seeing it proved harder than I anticipated. So when I finally had the opportunity to check it out for myself, it took me a few moments to figure out what it was I was supposed to do. I just want to throw in that I appreciate the 5-year warranty and how the seller goes the extra mile to show they really care, they even threw in an extra small gift which was super nice he will like that a lot. I will say that I did expect this to be a little more than it is for the price of it. The mat itself tends to slip a little bit so that can be a little scary. The music sounds fine it's just not as loud as I would like it to be and I had hoped all of it would light up while you're playing, but it doesn't do that. It's not as big as I thought it was going to be but, he will still be entertained, I just need to be extra careful when we play together that I don't end up knocking him over. On the plus side, this has more songs than most of the other dance mats I've checked out. I haven't tried all the levels out yet but we'll soon get to them I'm definitely going to need to supply extra batteries in the house because he loves his music and is crazy about dancing. Kids will definitely enjoy this.

Our kids definitely had fun with this device. It works like a small portable Dance Dance Revolution mat.I do have some issues with it. First, it's quite small, so our 6yo and 4yo were basically rubbing elbows while playing 2 player. It's a bit easy for them to get overexcited and smack each other. Second, the volume on the music is quite low even when it's maxed out. With the kids stomping like crazy, you can barely hear the music. Lastly, the mat itself doesn't grip the floor well. It tends to slide around a bit on the ground. As a result I am afraid one of the kids will step at a wrong angle, slip and fall on the ground. We played on hardwood and also on carpet but, as you can imagine, one wasn't necessarily better than the other.If it was larger, and stuck better to the floor, and had a better speaker, I think it would warrant a higher score.

Having been around when the DDR craze was all the rage, I played enough of that to know what passes for dancing games. This doesn't work like DDR, more like wack-a-mole for your feet. That said, it is pretty fun for a little self-contained dance game.Unboxing it was.. interesting. The candid humor of the letter you get was enjoyable. Certainly strays from the sterilized content you get anymore, so it was nice to see a little humanity shine through. And they were kind enough to include a special surprise, and actually a really useful one too. I don't know if they do that for all of them so I won't mention what it was, but the kids will appreciate it for sure if you do get it.As for technical issues with it, just a couple. The battery door doesn't shut completely, the batteries cause the door to bulge a little, so you have to use the included screw to keep it in place. A bit of a QC issue there. It also mentions in the manual that you don't want to fold it repeatedly, otherwise you risk damaging the wires and contacts inside the mat, something I was wondering about. So best to leave it out for a play session and only pack it up if you know it's not going to be used for a while.It's a fun toy and my kid's going to love it.
