Due mainly to our hard water, I suppose, I have needed to replace the Mixet Single-Handle Faucet Cartridge every few years since 1995. This time, in 2022, I couldn't find the Mixet brand cartridge at Home Depot, so I got this Danco replacement. It's a bit quirky in how much hot water comes through in relation to cold water, depending on what the water flow is adjusted to when taking a shower, and where the hot / cold adjustment is set. Not a big deal. It works, and I’m glad to have found it.Regarding which way to orient the cartridge when inserting it into the valve opening of the faucet body (where your tub and shower water comes out), the instructions say to have the red mark on the cartridge pointing up. When I did it that way, hot and cold were reversed. Turning the temperature adjustment handle left toward H made the water colder and turning it right toward C made it hotter. So I removed and reinstalled the cartridge with the red mark pointing down, and then Hot and Cold adjustments were left for hot and right for cold, as they should be.

A few years ago I bought a Danco 88200. I went through my purchase history and reordered the same part. I received a Danco 88200 MX1. This part does not fit. The diameter of the end of the 88200 MX1 is slightly larger than the 88200 and will not fit. The groove is also a different size. The end of the Danco 88200 was brass. The end of the Danco 88200 MX1 is a brass core covered in plastic. I had to order this replacement part from another manufacturer.

Like others I purchase another brand from HD. Like others the replacement didn't work much better than cartridge being replaced even when using grease. I purchased this cartridge and it's night and day. The temperature adjustment is nice and smooth. Only giving 4 stars because there is no stop for temp adjustment and water shutoff portion turns quite a bit before full on position reached. Still very pleased with this item.

I watched the YouTube video before I ordered this & while I was waiting for it to arrive I got some plumbers grease (small tube of silicone lube) from HD & was ready for the valve when it arrived. I was surprised when the valve came, because the Amazon picture shows the valve as being plastic & so were the ones at HD for $18, but the valve body was brass. The old valve came out just like the video & went back in very easy! I needed a crescent wrench, phillips screw driver & a pair of pliers to get the job done. Now I can adjust the water temperature with one finger, before it took my whole hand to move the temperature control handle & I saved $8 over the HD & Lowes price. Direct fit. replaced both bathroom cartridges. should have done it at least a year ago. easy to turn on and off and adjust to shower mode. no more water dripping. will order spare in case of emergency like neighbor that has a problem and charge full plummer rate. or let them find a replacement on there own.

I bought a replacement cartridge for Mixet locally and was disappointed to find out it was hard to turn because it was not built to spec. The Danco cartridge was the perfect solution to my problem. The Danco cartridge is built to spec and made from quality plastic and fittings. The rear assembly is actually made of brass (not plastic), and is machined to fit the Mixet valve.The lady of the house was complaining that the old cartridge was hard to turn, and adjust temperature. She sings praises after I changed the cartridge to this.

This was a great cartridge replacement for a unit that had been in place for at least twenty years. It is a quality part. I appreciate that the instructions are in English that can actually be read. I checked for a comparable part at HD and found one that was nearly twice the cost and looked like it might be half the quality. Hmmm - easy decision.Now, the only thing I would add is that some people say put silicon grease (not petroleum-based plumber's grease) on the o-ring before installing. The well-written instructions do not address this one way or another. I did so since it seemed a reasonable thing to do. I'm no expert, but I think that "greasing" the o-ring caused the temperature adjustment to slide TOO easily. So now I have to hold the temperature adjustment lever while turning the knob that turns off the water. Otherwise it slides all the way to the side while I'm turning the knob. I would not recommend using grease of any kind on the o-ring.
