I didn't keep this cartridge as it did not fit in my shower faucet. It appeared durable and would probably function great in the correct plumbing setup.

Sterling went out of business and this is a sorry excuse for a replacement cartridge. Just replace the valve and avoid the problems. I’ve been plumbing for half my life and they should’ve made it out of one solid piece like the old one that doesn’t exist anymore.

Tried to find this in plumbers supply houses and couldn't find it. Looked at a photo on Amazon and when I got it it was the exact item I was looking for. My tub thanks you for no more leaking.

I used this cartridge valve to fix a friends dual bathroom sink, this part is not available in any hardware stores so having it available here probably saved her over a $200.00 to replace the fixtures, the part fit right in and works as advertised, and I really appreciated that it come with the new O ring for between the valve and hold down nut.

This is a direct replacement part for our tub/shower and fit perfectly. However, the cable action is very stiff, travel is not as accurate as the previous cartridge, and it is VERY loud. Tough to say if it’s defective or not as it doesn’t leak.

It's just a cheap piece of plastic, but it's an identical match to the one I needed to replace! I checked in several home repair stores, and a few local plumbing stores - the only store that could match my cartridge required at least a week to get it in stock and was more expensive! With a RAPIDLY leaking faucet, this was a true blessing!The cartridge fit perfectly and it's been in place now for a couple years with NO leaks! Definitely a lifesaver!
