When they were listened to, it was discovered that these "New Old Stock" wonders have more twang than any Lipstick ever! Is it because of the aged magnets? Or the materials used 15 years ago? Who knows.... Who cares!!! They just sound great!
So, in the end, Danelectro took the flagship model, the 59M, with the tunable die cast bridge, and installed these 15-year-old beauties ... and.... voila. The best sounding, best playing Dano ever!

First off, it arrived a day early, so a thousand points to the seller. This is a truly great guitar, not just for its price, but in general. It sounds great, has a great feeling neck, and beautiful looks. The tone is bright and jangly, but not thin or weak. Skillful use of the volume and tone controls really unlocks the magic hidden inside this guitar. Both the rhythm and treble pickups are clear and articulate and they LOVE distortion.I'm pleasantly surprised by how versatile it is. It's not just for vibey '60s surf rock, although obviously it nails that niche perfectly. But this guitar easily covers rock, pop, country, and, in my case, worship, with great aplomb.Complaints: The "Baby Come Back" Blue is not nearly as vibrant in person as it is in the pictures. It's more of a grayish, greenish, but-still-definitely-blue color. That's not the seller's fault; they only used stock photos from Dano. Also, for a double-cutaway guitar, it really doesn't allow very high fret access. The high frets are slightly less accessible than those on a Les Paul or a Telecaster. I guess the cutaways are more for looks.Also, it's VERY lightweight, so if you're used to a Gibson style guitar like myself, it'll take a hot minute to get used to.Overall a wonderful buy and I get compliments on this beautiful guitar from everyone, even non-musicians. It's my new main go-to guitar.

It’s what it’s supposed to be. Sounds right, plays good. Very well Korean made. Can’t set the action quite low enough without shimming the neck.
