Works okay to keep larger items from getting into the pump. Could be improved by adding a few more threads where the two halfs join. Mine some times comes appart du to sallow threads and flexible plastic.

This little filter cover, which I use for a fish pond works extremely well. Prolongs the time between cleanings. Will need a filter medium for the inside. You may need to do some retro plumbing to fit on your pump ... to fit the housing. Nothing major.

I bought a pair of these for my pond pump. One to mount onto the pump and one as an extra. I was looking for something that mounted directly onto the pond pump itself. However, now I'm onto the second one because the first one crushed in upon itself. The plastic it is made of is kind of thin. So, I will have to see how well the second one holds up

It's good and don't have to clean out as frequently as the sponge type. It does clog about every 6 weeks with algae etc.

Had previously used foam filters but took a chance on these. Easy to assemble, easy to install, and does a better job than foam by not clogging as easily and easily rinsed and reinstall when they do become coated with debris. Love em.

This is a great pre-filter for my pond. I've used several others but none work as well as this.Hint: clean it every week or two, otherwise it will get clogged and the filter will be deformed and become useless. For some this may sound like a negative but it is actually a positive and shows how much crud it is filtering out of the water, which is exactly what a filter is supposed to do. Clean it regularly and it will be your best friend.
