I purchased a Gates pulley and a Dayco pulley, simply because it helped the order arrived sooner. This allowed me to compare the two items, as well. I can confirm that both this product and the Gates 38031 fit the 2.7 engine of the 2004 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 2wd double cab. Both can be used in either the power steering or the AC location. To make the power steering location install easier, i took the bolts off my plastic radiator guard, and stuck my 14 mm deep socket in between the radiator and the guard. Both products are a good. The Dayco product has slightly more resistance, which makes me think it has more grease in the sealed bearings.

Arrived on time, and as advertised. Simple installation, and quality construction. A great N.O.S. alternative, this pulley is a exact copy of the original, and is made by a brand trusted by mechanics for over 50 years. What more can I say, buy it.

Funny story...my A/C pulley imploded and I needed a new one. I ordered this Dayco pulley. When I took the old pulley off it was in pieces. I installed the new one and it was rubbing against the bracket and sparked when the engine ran. Oh how I laughed!!I decided to make a spacer with washers but the hole in the washer wasn't big enough so I had to drill it out and make it bigger. As I drilled the hole I happened to glance at the pieces of the old pulley sitting on my workbench. Low and behold there was a piece that looked like I could use it as a spacer instead of this washer nonsense.Upon further investigation I noticed this 'part' had discoloration that matched the adjustment slide on the attaching bracket. Low and behold, this was the original spacer. I giggled like a schoolgirl.Anyway, the pulley worked great and the AC is blowing cold. Do yourself a favor: keep an eye out for the spacer so you don't have to install the pulley and belt multiple times like I did.
