Had been in need of a new 'idler pulley' to replace a found grindin oldie - the one above the tensioner. SO while doin the fix opted to also change-out that old 'tensioner' too thou its still doin its job - mainly since it's an older '04' Ram 1500 5.7 hemi with 165k on the meter - 'while in there just do it'. Havin the truck for some odd 7 yrs now (20k being mine on that ticker) haven't replaced any spinnin' parts since - xcept for the serp belt soon after time of purchase - n' who knows when prior. Moving parts do wear so its only some added cheap insurance especially at their listed price points. Opted for the Dayco pulley here and made a wise choice. The install went as good as it gets - part appeared to b a replica as did the tensioner - both without issues in fitment. The serp belt had still been in great shape. Probably only takin 30 minutes til restart n' check out time - no issues were found on fire up - grinding noise now ceasing to exist. Prior to scribblin this - 100 miles or so later - all have been doin there job just fine. Therefore can highly recommend this product. IF it fails - I'll surely add the jist of the when, why, and end results - til then - it's currently all quiet under the hood. 👍

The lower tension pulley in my 5.7L Hemi was worn to basically pieces of plastic so I replaced it with a solid heavy duty pulley instead of the OEM hollow plastic. The only issue I had was I only purchased one. When I started my truck to other OEM pulley did the same thing. Save yourself time, if 1 pulley breaks, fix both of them as well as automatic belt tensioner. After the install my truck is quieter, runs better and restored its power.
