Now I'm not a big "boat motor" pro by any means but this little device saved my marriage!Ok maybe I'm exaggerating a touch, but this thing did save me a ton of cash in repairs. Our boat just decided to stop starting one day and of course it had to be after a nice day chilling on a river.We managed to start back up using the emergency cord but that meant I now had the task of figuring out what was going on.I spent a good half hour with the cowl cover open just staring in silence at stuff I knew nothing about. I was literally thinking how many sips of beer I can take while looking serious. I mean I looked pretty cool to my fellow campers who thought I knew what I was doing with my bead burried in this motor!Finally, one of my buddies asked if I had checked the solenoid. I was like "well duh, I was just about to do that!". After sneakily hitting up the net to see where the solenoid was on this old motor, I decided to look even cooler by just pulling it out.I ordered up a new one and reversed the whole process. Putting it back in made me look even manlier so that's a bonus.I crossed my fingers and held by beer closer as I turned that key to see....to my surprise...it worked!! I was back in business and looked like a fancy mechanic.This little device did the trick and my wife was extra grateful that night!

The screws don't tighten the studs spin in the solenoids , worthless garbage do not buy !

Bought this to replace -- as a precaution -- my boat's OEM Mercury solenoid when I replaced the starter.Used less than one season and it is DEAD.What a joke.The original solenoid is 21 years old. Glad I kept it in a box of old boat parts.I put THE ORIGINAL solenoid back on the boat after I removed this piece of non operational junk.The boat fired right up!Thank you Mercury for making awesome marine rated components!Shame on you DB Electrical for pawning of this piece of garbage as OEM equivalent.DB Electrical = Buyer Beware!I will NEVER spend another $.01 on ANYTHING made by this company.

This product still works but i installed it and the stud that goes to the starter just spins so its hard to get the nut tight on it
