When you first open the box it seems that there are many more parts than you will ever need. And to some extent its true. It comes with different templates to align the numbers, four of each number (0-9), the entire alphabet, and of course poles. The sign itself is just a textured plastic. I assumed there would be a cover over the numbers but there is none. The numbers simply peal off and adhere to the plastic. The numbers are aligned using a template, which is the width of the illuminated portion and sectioned into boxes. Just place a number in each box and its done.Of course, there is the option to mount this to a surface. It comes with a drilling template, two screws, and screw anchors. I did not use this install so cannot comment on the procedure. One thing I need to point out is that it appears rather short for a sign of this type. The height is given in the Amazon description page, which is about three feet when the stake is fully inserted. What they do not mention is that the solar unit takes up a few inches. The attached picture shows it in a pot that raises the soil level by ten inches. With the stake fully inserted into the soil the top of the lit portion is now at 42 inches (plus a few inches to the top of the solar unit). This height made a big difference to me even though it added just ten inches. There is excellent contrast of the black numbers against the white background. At night, the numbers are well visible using any one of the three color temperatures. I just hope that they will remain in place without protection from the wind and rain. Please note that one of the review videos on the seller’s Amazon description page shows a similar sign with two poles and horizontal placement. That is not an option for this product, which has only one pole and is situated only vertically.I am rating at five stars. This is based on its ease of assembly, presentation, four of each number (and the alphabet), and seemingly good value price wise. As the seller’s description is accurate you know the height before buying and so know what you are getting. Therefore, I cannot deduct because I thought it is too short. Just do the measurement and make sure that works for you.

I like the premise of this item; put my address closer to the street so it can be easily seen. The included number and letter stickers went on easily. The included templates are a bit tricky, but not impossible. I put on four numbers and I think they look good. This sign can probably hold a five number/letter combination. When illuminated at night (it automatically turns on/off) the numbers are visible and clear from the street. My one downside is the mounting process. The stake that goes into the ground needs to go in plumb and true, otherwise your sign will lean (see my example). I tried a couple of times to get the stake in straight, but couldn't quite get it. Call it user error, so don't be discouraged. And after inserting and removing the stake, it doesn't hold the sign 100% securely. There's a little wobble and a moderate wind did blow it over. So, if you can get it in straight, and reduce the wiggle you should do just fine.

I love solar-powered lights and I used to have a sign with my house number for years until weather and time got to it.I found this product that was not too costly and I truly love it!!Easy to put together, it has numbers and letters to accommodate any house or unit number, and 2 poles to adjust the height -although with the highest setting I felt wind could easily knock it down or break it-.It also has 3 settings for different light styles, and it's pretty bright at night and retains the solar charge pretty well!

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! We live in a dark area and needed our address numbers to show up at night. I also wanted a narrow sign to mount to a 7” wide porch post. Tried all sorts of “solutions” to light up the numbers that were nailed there, but solar lights just didn’t light the area up very well. This was a reasonable price, but doesn’t look cheap. It wasn’t hard to assemble with my house number and putting it up wasn’t difficult, either. Don’t know how long it will last in the elements because it’s mostly plastic, but for now it is perfect.
