This DC hour meter is pretty great. It arrives with only the meter in a small bag and basically, what you see is what you get.The unit is basically a clock that starts counting as soon as you power it on. It can be used for basically whatever you want. It can be wired to anything that is DC 6-80v which covers an extremely wide variety of machines.Overall, it's a great hour counter that can be wired to a wide variety of machines and voltages as long as it is DC.

- The "Taikemeti DC 6-80V Wired Machine Hour Meter …" is pretty much as advertised except the ad and directions show the meter connected to the positive and negative terminals of the battery, this is incorrect unless you want a clock. It should be connected in parallel with the load in other words: if you want to keep track of the amount of time an electric motor has been running you would connect it to the positive and negative terminals of the motor. The other things that bother me are that they use a white wire for the positive connection and they do not have connectors on the wires, but in fairness the pictures in the advertisement show this.- The display is the size I expected. The .1 hour number (red) moves continually when it has power so an exact time is not available. The appearance of the position of the .1 hour (red) digit is impacted by the angle it is viewed from. They cover these issues in the advertisement when they say it is accurate to .1 hours.- It makes a VERY subtle whirring sound (barely audible from 3 inches) while it is running.- It also would have been nice if it had an led to light the dial and was easier to remove the bracket that holds it on the panel.

This is a fairly simple device which is essentially a clock with no reset or adjustment options. When connected to a power source it will run continuously which makes the installation instructions a bit strange where it shows connecting this directly to the battery. For this device to work properly you will need to connect it in parallel to a section that is shut off with a switch.
