This is a perfect fit for my 2022 Ram 1500 Classic. No cutting necessary. I just bought a used 2022 Ram 1500 Classic and I always put bed and tailgate pads in my trucks even if they have a spray in liner. This tailgate pad was a perfect fit once aligned properly. I laid it flat in my garage, with some toolboxes on top for some weight, for 24 hours before installing. I used a 1/8 drill bit and the included screws worked perfectly. It looks great.

Fast shipping and Easy installation. Really adds extra protection to your tailgate. Spray on bed liners are ok if you're only loading light articles. However if you're like me and haul hunting gear and lord knows what else, the spray on liners just don't prevent dents and dings from the heavy items. A great investment!

Dee Zee Heavy weight Tailgate is made from a different material than the bed mat. The Tailgate is much more durable material. It is a different color and texture.I like others did not want to screw into my 2016 F150 Tailgate. I used the heavy duty 3M Velcro tape. I should have video the install as I could not find any that showed how to install with thisMethod.I put the hook piece of tape across the top of the width of the tailgate right under the plastic cap on the paint. I first cleaned the paint with alcohol. Next I trimmed any areas that needed trimming with scissors and determined which end it would mounted on top. Clean it with alcohol and install the loop tape on the mat. I did not have to trim the mat only some areas that were rough.Once the top of the mat was attached to the tailgate I rolled the mat up and cleaned the paint and added hook and loop strips to the tailgate. Horizontally mid way and at the bottom and two veritable strips on the sides. I did this in several stages: 1st attached the remainder of hook and loop tape together. 2nd cut the strips in the length i needed & match each side & cleaned the area with Alcohol. 3rd I attached the hook side to the tailgate. All this time the mat is folded in half and being held. I cleaned the mat with alcohol where the tape will make contact. Once dry I removed the tape cover on the loop side of the tape and slowly rolled the mat down. So far, the tape is holding it. Check pics.

It’s a nice heavy duty mat however it could be 2 inches larger in height to cover more of the tail gate surface

I previously purchased the DeeZee Heavyweight Bed Mat for a 5.5 foot truck bed (Dee Zee DZ87005 Heavyweight Bed Mat). While this tailgate mat does not match exactly, it is made of a similar enough rubber material that is found it to be ok. My only problem was that the box with this tailgate mat arrived a bit open (both the Amazon box and the product box). So, no surprise that when I opened it and unrolled the tailgate mat there was no bag of hardware (the 26 screws that the instructions say are needed to secure the mat to the tailgate). I decide to go a different direction as I was not thrilled with the idea of screwing into my truck's tailgate. As some fo the other reviewers mentioned on DeeZee's website, 3M marine-grade hook and eye tape (2 of 3M Fastener TB3571/TB3572 Hook/Loop Black, 1 in (25.4mm) x 10 ft (3.05m) (1 Mated Strip/Bag)) can be used to secure the mat to the tailgate. I used two packs with 2 long strips across the tailgate and than small strips between the two strips and below the second strip towards the bottom of the tailgate. The tape held the mat securely to the tailgate. Note that for a 2018 Ford F-150, you may need to trim the mat a bit-I had to cut off about an inch to get it to fit using heavy duty cutters.

As advertised. It is a little wider from side to side than the tailgate so it will have to be trimmed. Nice and heavy like the bed mat by Dee Zee.UPDATE: 5/7/17- Had to cut some off the width (side to side) and radius the bottom corners so the tailgate would close. Not a problem to cut if you have the right tool. A utility knife with 2 sharp blades. Use a metal straightedge that you clamp down on the material and make a series of cuts, starting with light pressure and using more pressure as you make subsequent cuts. I used a belt sander to round or radius the corners. Used construction adhesive and heavy blocks to glue it down and put a total of 10 screws in the countersunk holes. Worked fine. Just take your time.

The product is well made, no question about that (despite what other reviewers have said). The big question is about installation & fit. One reviewer said they didn't like that they had to drill holes to install. Well, these reviewers need to read the online description more closely and they would know that drilling may be required! Please don't review products out of ignorance! If you screw up installation because of your fault, don't let that affect your review! My liner did not fit perfectly, but I decided to use another due to my Chevy Silverado tailgate having the 'slowed' drop feature. This product seemed to put too much weight on it and it resulted in the tailgate dropping too fast with a solid 'thud'. But due to a bit of modification, I used it for the the bulkhead & ordered a lighter version of a TG liner. Yes, maybe the description could have mentioned this issue, but I worked around it. Bottom line: know what you're looking for and read the description carefully. Another tip: whether pro or con, please inform the rest of us what the vehicle brand & model you're dealing with!

Identical build quality to the Dee Zee Heavy Duty Bed Mat, which is excellent. Very heavy reinforced rubber mat that lays flat after you unroll it. Recessed holes in mat accommodate included screws so that the heads don't stick up above the surface of the mat. Very easy installation - trimmed about 1.5" off so it would fit my F150 the way I wanted it to. Easy to do with a straight edge and a drywall knife. Drilled 12 9/32" holes in the tailgate to install it, using the mat itself as a koine-up template. Drove the included black sheet metal screws in with a power driver - whole deal took less than an hour and results are great, I installed this because climbing up on my tailgate in wet weather is like walking on I've - very dangerous. This thing gives me a skid proof pad the climb up on.I read al of the negative reviews and wondered if these people are even talking about the same product. One guy even complained about the box it came in ... really? This is a durable, high quality mat that is very easy to install unless you are all thumbs.
