First issue, the guard itself is far too small for an adult. At it's current length, the bowstring would most likely catch the back lip and try to rip it off my arm. At the very least, the string will run down the back half of your forearm before reaching the guard. Either way, it'll be painful. For reference, I have a permanent crease in my forearm (blue arrow) from wearing arm guards so much, and is where my normal guards reach. I'd say the size of the DeeRace guard would be more for a 6-7 year old, but the straps are the next issue.Second issue, the straps are much too long. Adjusted to the tightest/smallest they go, the guard still flops around my forearm.

There's nothing worse than getting really smacked by a bowstring if you let your technique slip while practicing archery. You need a brace to help with this. When I saw a three-pack of these at this price point, I decided to try them. They arrived, and I was struck by how small they were. However, you learn after a while that you are most likely to get hit, so I adjusted the brace to the correct spot and gave it a try. These adjust easily, and I liked the elastic straps. Also, they have military-style quick disconnects, which is a plus. It was time to test them out, so I gathered a new longbow to do some target shooting. The brace, while small, did work. A few times I snapped my arm with the string and it removed the bite, as it's supposed to. No complaints there. As these are hard plastic, my arm did get sweaty after a while. However, the brace didn't slip, and it didn't get in the way. While you can get better braces, these work, especially for kids. Adults may want something larger, but in a pinch, these will do. It's a lot better than getting a bad case of string burn, trust me!

These are unusably short. I was expecting about 7" from pictures, but they are only 5.5" long. They say "Adults Youth Men Women", but they seem like better guards for your toddlers. Cheaply made, but that's not a big problem for me - it's the sizing.

These guards are approximately 5.5 x 2.5 inches at their longest and widest point. The material of construction is rigid and resilient and does in fact prevent the bow string from slapping your arm, but, consideration needs to be placed in positioning on the forearm to get the best coverage. With the elastic bands being fairly good the guard does stay where you put it. Unfortunately if the guard is misplaced you can hook the proximal end towards the elbow of the guard with the string.

These are tiny and do not offer full protection for the inner side of the arm.
