These wood slices are made from high-quality, sustainably sourced wood. They come pre-sanded and polished, which saves time and effort. I tried making my own slices and it is alot of work getting them to be as smooth as these while at the same time keeping the bark intact. Based on that alone makes these worth every penny.You get 8 slices that measures approximatly 9 to 10 inches wuth a thickness of 0.75 inchesI got these to make design on using my laser engraver, these could also be used for various purposes, from table centerpieces to DIY crafts and home decor.I would recommend

This wood is beautiful. I plan to use these as a “canvas” to paint pictures on of the homes my husband and I have lived in over the years and then display them in our family room which has rustic decor. The bark on them will make a natural “frame” around the paintings. I also plan to use a couple to elevate the lamps on our end tables because they are just a bit too short and these wooden slices will be perfect.

I like these wood circles for various craft projects. They are real Wood. You can see the growth rings and they still have the tree bark around the edges, giving them that rustic look. Because the growth rings are evident, keep that in mind if painting these. I suggest using a thick primer if you don't want those rings seen thru your finished craft.They are smooth and didn't really require sanding. It depends on the type of craft you are doing. I would recommend sanding if you intend to paint these. They are on the lighter side, making them easy to work with. They aren't heavy and cumbersome. They take to drilling holes well without splitting. Overall, these are good quality for producing lovely craft projects.5 stars for quality. A product I would recommend for various crafts.

The sky is the limit with wood slices. Went all out with this one - mosaic tiles, dried flowers, copper glittery resin in the main flower, dyed abalone shells at the bottom, and the outer rings of the main flower are napkin rings. The slices are nice and big with even rings, and just needed a slight sanding to be ready for me to work with. The nice thickness of them gives me lots of room to imbed thick items like chunky weeds or small pinecones.

I ordered the defined Deco 8 pcs of large unfinished wood slices in 9-10 inches in diameter to use for engraving on my 20W Diode laser. After I received the slices, I immediately designed a project using an image I had been wanting to engrave on a wood slice and using my 20W laser I engraved it on one of these slices. The slices were not perfectly smooth so I first ran them through my 6-inch belt sander to smooth them up to the level of finish I prefer on my projects. I then placed one of the slices into my laser and setup and configured the project to be lasered. I wanted the image to be on the darker side given the light color of the wood. Since the wood is out of China, I have no idea what species of wood it is but based on the density and color of the wood, I used a Birch setting as a base to configure the project. I increased the laser intensity and decreased the default speed to allow for a darker and deeper engrave and I really like how the image turned out. The slices seemed to be well cured and dried properly and I did not have any cracks or pieces of missing edge bark on any of the slices. The all appear to be at least 9 to 9.5 inches in diameter based on my measurements and overall I am very happy with the quality and size of the slices.

Nice, sturdy disks. The bark around the outside stayed on well. I didn't have many problems with it falling off like bark can do sometimes. I sanded the top a bit smoother and stained them with a dark walnut stain. They did take the stain well. I used a gel stain and I think a liquid penetrating stain might work better, depending on the look you're going for. Overall happy with the rustic results.
