About this item

  • Delphi uses winding process techniques to control the length of wire between adjacent windings. That’s important because more length results in greater voltage differences, which in turn create more pressure that could break down the insulation and wire coating.
  • Delphi's ignition coils are engineered to Original Equipment specifications
  • Delphi's ignition coils are designed with proven materials, such as high quality wires and wire coating that resists the cracks, pin holes and imperfections that most often lead to failure issues
  • Epoxy vacuum techniques reduce air bubbles in the epoxy, because having fewer air bubbles increases the epoxy's insulation quality and reduces the chances of energy punch-through failures
  • Delphi's coils are designed and endurance tested to resist the common stresses that cause failure

Delphi's ignition coils are designed to operate as a part of an integral engine management system, to insert power into spark plugs and ensure fast starts, consistent engine performance and optimized fuel efficiency.

Perfect fit on my 2009 MINI Cooper non S. I had replaced another ignition coil last year. Now another one went. I strongly recommend that if one fails on you, just replace all four. It's a great price at $25. You'll pay $50 at Advance Auto who sells the same one. You should also invest in a basic OBD2 code reader. But if you are looking up this part, you likely already know your issue.

I was ready to go through the BMW dealership for that particular part but I decided to order the part at a lower cost.Easy to install, perfect fit for my 2006 BMW Z4 M (40,000 km). I had to pay extra for the fast delivery but still lower than the original part. By clearing my Error Code on the dash, the Check Engine disappeared and the motor performance came back to normal. I'm planning to order another one as a spear because I had to towed my car just for this problem. (Half performance of the motor, smelling gas and a continuous warning buzzer made me called the towing)

My R56 mini cooper has engine misfires on 2 cylinders and I traced the problem as bad coils. The mini dealership wants $128 for each coils plus 1 hour minimum labour for diagnostics/installation. The original Mini Delphi coils have molded boots like the Bosch coils and this seems to have a different boot but I tried pulling it and it won't separate so I guess it is fine. I decided to swap all 4 coils as a lot of folks at mini forums says better have all the same and I will just keep the other 2 used coils as back-ups. The installation only took 5 minutes and the car is running fine again and no more misfiring codes that I need to clear. It has a snug fit and has a good seal on the top just like the original mini Delphi coils.

Had issues the BMW dealership on Louisville wanted $1175 to change spark plugs and ignition coils. Only #4 was misfiring so on my own (I am no mechanic!) replaced just the one with a Napa part, the car seemed to run fine after that until the next morning then back to the same issue. I ordered these Delphi because another dealership told me they would replace with Delphi. I bought 6 of these from Amazon and NDK spark plugs from Pep Boys and replaced all in about 30 min. Car is running great again. It's only been 4 days, so time will tell if they last but so far so goo. Saved about $900 over dealer.

Los acabo de recibir y a pesar de que se ven bien empatados muestran mucho óxido en la placa metálica, sobre todo dos bobinas. Esto perjudicará el desempeño? De ser así me gustaría que los repongan, quedo a la espera. Saludos.

Update: 8/6/2017 - So I called Delphi to get warranty replacement. While they are covered by a 3 year warranty, Delphi says that warranty is done at the point of sale and that they can't help me. In this case, that's Amazon. Well talking to Amazon reps, Amazon can't replace them after the return period nor can they work with the manufacturers to get warranty replacement. The 1st line rep was nice but couldn't help. The 2nd line rep was a total d!ck! Pretty much said I was SOL so I request a supervisor. This person told me that the sup would say the same thing. But I insisted anyway. Got a supervisor and he quickly offered me a return/refund on the defective unit. While this came to a good conclusion, it definitely will complicate things in the future if I have another failure. My advice, DO NOT BUY DELPHI products from Amazon. Neither companies are equipped to handle warranty issues. Lowering my ratings to a 1-star!Bought this Jan 2018, its now august. 1 of the 6 coils has already failed. Thankfully, i kept the good coils from my previous set (I believe they were OEM Bosche) to quickly troubleshoot and replace. Also the electrical connector was key'd differently than my harness so i had to slightly modify it to fit, even though the listing claims it's a fit for my car. Work fine for about 7 months until the one coil failed. I certainly expected more from a Delphi Part. They did work wonderfully for the 7 months.

Great product. Like many others have said, this coil pack sticks up a little bit higher than the Bosch. While it's literally the same size, the rubber boot sits higher on the Delphi. Once you slide the coil on, you can adjust the rubber boot to be snug so no dust, etc. gets into the cylinder. It's that simple. I'd suggest going to Pelican Parts > select BMW > select Tech Info tab > select E90 (or your model) to find detailed instructions and large blow up pictures to 1) Remove the engine cover and 2) to change ignition coil and plugs. The instructions were very good. I also ordered the Caldera 14mm 12pt socket for the plugs since I have the twin turbo engine. Very good socket for $7 on Amazon. Only other recommendation is to change or clean your air and cabin filters while you have everything torn apart. Finally, the Bosch plugs (ZGR6STE2) were identical to OEM, except they didn't say BMW. My 335xi is highly tuned so plug changes are required more frequent. There was a significant change in throttle response once I changed out older, more warn parts.
