If you're swapping from mini Delphi to EV6 These are the crimpers you need. Super easy to use and work flawlessly.

I recently used the delphi connectors on my speaker wires that go to my saddlebag lids so I could have a quick release connector when I want to take my bags off. The connectors worked perfect and so did the tool. My buddy tried doing these without the tool and its a pain...took me about 10 seconds to get them on. Having the provided de-pinning tool is awesome too. Push it in...releases the pin from the connector. Simple. Worked great. If you use the delphi connectors I highly recommend you get these pliers. They saved me a ton of time and cuss words! Any questions please let me know.

This tool has worked flawlessly for me thus far I have built about half a dozen harnesses thus far all with various weather pack connectors and this tool has yet to fail me. Just like with any hand tool it does take just a bit of finesse to use it efficiently. Most of the negative reviews I have seen seem to come from novice individuals. This tool would be great for the occasional hobbyist and or even a professional who uses these types of connectors on a regular bases. However, if you are doing production type work builiding harnesses for several hours a day there are better equipped more expensive tools out there for that repeatable task.

Yes, this will help in the installation of a SuperSeal Waterproof connector, but the process requires two crimps, where the correct tool does it in one. I installed a 8 conductor Superseal connector for my antenna rotor. I also sealed the back end with hot glue, as well as the open end of the wire covering, before installing a piece of thick walled heat shrink to hold it all together. I used all 18 gauge wire in my connector, and the crimps it did were pretty good, although one wire slipped out after the crimp. I slid the wire back in the way it came out, and crimped it again. This time it held much better. I think if i even do this again, i will solder the wire after it is crimped onto the pins. in hind sight, that was the one thing i could have done to make this connection waterproof, and last a very long time in the Florida weather.Update: When i ordered this crimper I had also ordered the proper crimper that the seller of the Superseal connectors had suggested. I got that crimper a couple of weeks after using this WeatherPack crimper. The crimper that does both crimps simultaneously was by far harder to use. This Weather Pack crimper is what i prefer to use from now on.

In September, 2015, I purchased a PowerFilm solar panel that uses Delphi Weatherpack connectors. I wanted to carry that same level of weatherproof protection through to the rest of the electrical connections in my portable 12V solar charging system. Unfortunately, the only crimping tools that were available were out of my price range for this one-time job. So, I crimped the best I could using pliers, and I reinforced with solder. (There were a number of throw aways.) I recently decided to implement some improvements in my system, and was pleased to find these tools at such a reasonable price. As others have testified, they produced perfect crimps. It's much better to have the right tool for the job.

I purchased this tool to install some weatherproof connectos for a wire harnesss upgrade for my Chevy S10. They are being used to add in several sending units to monitor engine vitals, replace aftermarket electric fan harness connectors, and also install LED fog and driving lights. The connectors are good qualilty... think Delco OEM or similar, come neatly packaged, and provide a nice weatherproof connection and can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XHNQBI2/ref=nav_timeline_asin?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1. This tool was the right choice and did the trick well.PROS:- The tool worked well. (This does take some practice... the pin material is somewhat soft and can split near the red weather seal. If you're new to this tool or type of connector plan on breaking a few pins. This is not an indication of poor pin quality, but a mistake made during install. A gentle crimp will provide more than enough holding on the red seal and will prevent breakage. It's a good idea to crimp a little at time time and check as you go. The idea is to have a snug crimp... not to completely smash the pins. Keep in mind that fully compressing the crimp tool is not necessary to get a good seal and crimp on these pins).- Provides a solid electrical and weather seal crimp.- The tool is built very solidly and has a good hinge.- A pin depressor is included (handy if you install a pin in the wrong connector hole).CONS:- No instructions are included. Fear not though... there are markings on the tool. Use the number one slot for crimping the weather seal and wire onto the pin and slot number 2 to crimp the electrical connection. You want the open side of the non-crimped pin to go in the "U" side of the crimp tool... see attached pictures. This applies to the weather seal and the electrical connection. Using thicker wire? No problem! There are 3 more crimp sizes on this tool!Purchase again? Yes... but I doubt I'll need to as this tool is built to last a long time.

I have a few crimpers, from ratcheting to "manual" and I have found I like the manual version over the years. I feel like I can control the crimp better. This is a fine product for a hobby or occassional type crimper. It does exactly what it should and I usuely give it a little more leverage on certain steps of my crimp. I have not had any "miss fires" like a few others but when I do it seems to be due to me using the wrong "chamber". I have not had to throw away any of those costly Deutch terminals yet.If you are looking for a crimper this one is good quality for the best price I could find.
