The airflow was very weak. Did not make a significant improvement in lowering the temperature. Disappointed.

Simple and quick installation. Very pleased with the results. Effectively reduced the temperature and the humidity in our Norcold fridge. Like the blue LED light feature that is perfect to illuminate the interior. Small, effective and an energy saver

Very well made and attach to the refrigerator cooling coils.I ordered the one with the led light, thinking it was a pilot light.Nope. It's a small led strip light on the back side of the fan housing. There's two on/off switches. One for the fan and a second for the light.I added an led pilot light by removing the led strip and switch and adding a red pilot light. The fan switch turns on both the fans and led.Works good for me.

For the money, this fan set is well worth the expense. If time is worth anything, it would be hard to duplicate in the home workshop for the price. The LEDs are sort of silly--they really don't add enough light to help find anything in the frig. Maybe some would find them useful. But there is a switch, so that one can choose whether to leave them on or turn them off, and in any event they don't draw any measurable power. It was fairly easy to install by anyone with even the slightest mechanical ability, although I have to say that the instructions are awful. I installed it in a new small (3.8 cu.ft.) Dometic 3-way. At first I tried to wire it to the hot side of the refrigerator light switch. But the fan draws enough current that the "door open" warning circuitry would activate with the door closed, as the circuitry interpreted that the light was on, setting off the alarm. So I redid the wiring and fed it down through the condensate drain, where it was easy to wire to the 12V connections under the refrigerator. Incidentally, that's actually much easier to do than to wire it to the frig light circuitry. If I'd done that at first, the whole thing would have been a 15 minute job. As it was, it took me about half an hour to wire to the frig light circuit, then 15 minutes to unwire it and reinstall the frig light, then another 15 minutes to feed the wire thought the condensate tube and wire to the 12V connections, total 1 hour. Any technician who either can't do the job or charges for more than half an hour of time really is cheating the customer, it's that easy. The fans are somewhat noisy with the door open, but there's a barely audible hum with the door closed. I may turn off the fans at night if the hum proves to be annoying, since there'll be less need for the benefits of the fans once the sun is down. Because the rig is brand new, the refrigerator hasn't been used yet, other than to hold excess Thanksgiving fixings, so I really don't know how necessary these fans will be. However, I've used absorption refrigerators in the past, and two of the common complaints, which I've experienced, are uneven cooling and frost forming on the cooling fins. If these fans do their job as expected, both of those issues will be gone. One other thing: I recommend pulling the refrigerator's 12V fuse while doing the wiring. I didn't at first, and blew that fuse (4 amp automotive fuse). I didn't count the time it took to run to the auto supply store, because if I'd either been smart and pulled it first, or if I'd had a supply of fuses, no time would have been lost. Also, contrary to the instructions, the fins on my refrigerator don't appear to be grounded, so that when I wired to the hot side of the door light switch, it was necessary to run a ground wire. All in all, this fan set should make using any absorption refrigerator much more pleasant by eliminating the usual complaints.

Not too difficult to install but I did have a problem with my particular refrigerator unit. The included electrical clip would not physically fit in the area pf the light fixture no matter which way I bent it, turned it or squeezed. Simple solution was to revert back to my hot rod days of my youth and use "expedient methods". I just wedged the bare wire between the light bulb contact on the hot side and it works great. The refrigerator does stay a couple of degrees cooler but more importantly it is an even temperature (according to my thermometer) throughout the whole box.

This was by far one of the most effective upgrades I have done! After installing the first one and actually seeing how much better my fridge worked I ordered a second one and truly don't have any regrets at all. One of the best things is that I no longer have to change batteries and my fridge is operating super efficient. I actually moved the temperature setting warmer due to the increase in cooling efficiency!

The RV Repair person worked 25 mins. trying to get it to thread through the 2 different holes/tubing that one is supposed to use...totally would NOT thread through either tube. Great idea, but now I'm $50 poorer...am not happy so of course returning. It's a newer Dometic so that isn't the issue. And, why would you wire to the light for god's sake as the fan would then stay on only when the door is open. Kinda nuts. Terribly disappointed.
