I did a whole new ac rebuild to find out that it died within ten months. Don’t bother with the seller because they don’t even reply and Denso won’t even honor the warranty since it’s sold by a third party.

Seems to hold up well. I’ve had it in my civic for a few months now and it seems to function just as well as oem. I would recommend it for anyone looking for an a/c replacement.

Ordered an AC Denso Compressor for a 1995 Civic, arrived as described, not even a detail on the box. A+++

Fitment was perfect, just like stock. Looks high quality like you would expect from a Made In Japan DENSO unit. Much better quality and fitment than the UAC I last had. Came with the proper amount of oil already installed. Went on great, held a vacuum, recharged and has worked great for over a month. Note that my 99 Civic EX had a Sanden compressor from the factory, and this unit looked like and installed just like the Sanden. I think other markets got a DENSO that looked different (not sure about fitment).

Worked like a champ on my 1998 Honda Civic LX. I am no longer sweating my hind end off this summer. The original compressor was making some horrible noises and finally died so I began shopping around. I knew I wanted to DIY this and didn't want to have to mess with it again for the remainder of the time I own this car so I went new over reman'd. I have installed new/used/reman'd before but I just want the extra peace of mind with a brand new unit. This unit matched right up and works great. I think there can be 2 possible types of compressors on this era Civic so make sure to eyeball yours to be sure it matches.

The original manufacturer goes by the name of "SANDEN" for the 96-00 honda civic LX, DX, EX models... Denso is a far much better manufacturer and BY FAR, producing greater quality products. This AC compressor comes Pre-filled with oil, so you dont have to worry about filling it with lubricant. smooth engagement. Quiet operation, and stellar performance and durability. I saw a couple of other reviews stating that the compressor failed and rapidly switches on and off. THIS IS NOT A COMPRESSOR MALFUNCTION. It is due to an air pocket within your AC system and could be a fault of the installer. It is an easy fix. Just take it back to the installer and have the air bled out of the system. Do not let them charge you for this. There was also another review stating that it was dented. UNLESS the dent is found within one of the grooves on the pulley wheel... it is not a problem. The AC compressor is a part within the engine bay that is not seen and does not receive a great of amount of visual attention.

The original compressor failed after 18 years. Replaced it with this one. My AC is now working very well. It even feels colder than when I first purchased the car. This compressor also came with the right amount of oil so I did not need to add any. Pulled vacuum for about an hour. Checked for leaks and then charge the system with DuPont Suva R134A refrigerant. Be sure not to overcharge your system. Check your service manual for the amount of refrigerant your system use. This information can sometimes be found under the hood of the vehicle. Also charge your vehicle with only vapor on the low pressure side only. You might need to put the cans in some hot water during the charging process. If you are replacing your compressor be sure to replace the Drier as well.

I have a 1997 Civic EX that came with the Sanden compressor. I was only able to find the OE Sanden replacement at the dealer with an online price of $460 and another online seller for $260 shipped but they had a lot of poor reviews. Then while looking at an Auto Parts web site I found this Denso compressor but for $130 more than Amazon . I was already familiar with Denso as an OE manufacturer and they're quality parts, so I figured this compressor would be the best alternative to the Sanden. This compressor is identical to the one I removed with the exception of the pulley which is wider but doesn't cause clearance issues. After doing a flush and installing a Four Seasons accumulator/drier also purchased from Amazon I now have A/C that's colder than the A/C in my other '97 Civic with a compressor purchased from the dealer. It makes a black car with charcoal interior bearable in this Arizona heat.
