I previously purchased a non Denso sensor for my 2008 Mazdaspeed3; when installed it worked properly but threw a P2246 code on start up. I purchased this sensor and installed it and it works perfect with no ECU codes generated. Highly recommended.

I have had this o2 sensor installed for 3 months and it just went bad. Throwing a CEL for it again. Not sure if I got a dud or what.

Was a little bit sceptical that the sensor would be subpar as compared to the OEM sensor. Lord knows I didn't want to pay dealership costs on a new Primary O2. (Read: $$$$$$) So, after looking a few reviews here, I went ahead and bit the bullet. Lo and behold, there is literally no visible difference between this unit and the one that I removed from my 2009 Mazdaspeed3. It's been on the car for awhile now...all is good. I work in the aftermarket tuning business and so far this unit is reading dead on with our Innovate O2 sensor that's used on the dyno.

This sensor is completely indiscernible from the factory unit which I replaced. My application was a 2008 Mazdaspeed3 (2.3L Turbo). This unit has the same wrapping on the cables, the mounting tab, dual connectors (black and grey) and even the Mazda logo on the metal part of the sensor. It was a perfect fit and solved my issues (see below). As you can see from the pictures I uploaded, this does have the cup-style metal shield around the base just above the threads. You will need a 7/8"/22mm O2 sensor socket to swap it out. The unit came with some anti-seize lubricant already on the threads, but also came with a disposable tube of additional copper-based anti-seize. I put a little bit more on the threads, being careful not to put an excessive amount on. I used PB Blaster overnight on the old unit and it broke loose fairly easily (with a standard length 3/8" ratchet). The new unit comes with a plastic protective ring that covers the threads. You will need to remove that before installing the new unit.Directions are very basic, but are included in English, Spanish and French.Symptoms that lead me to replacing the unit included:-Loss of power at below 3000RPM-Stumble in accelleration-Check Engine Light--P2177 - lean off of idle--P2187 - lean at idle--P2097 - Down Stream Fuel System rich--U2064 - warning light illumination-AFR was stuck at 29.3-Rich burn smell from exhaust-No knock retard while drivingThis all pointed to the upstream (pre-Cat) sensor being bad.. causing the ECM to dump too much fuel which caused the cat to be overloaded which threw the P2097. The rich smell and loss of power also pointed too too much fuel. The lack of knock retard confirmed that I was not running at 29.3 lean. Your results may vary. :)

This product was delivered quickly and for a great price. The sensor is installed and working well. I will definitely come back for other parts.
