I ordered this Derby Day Thick Cardboard Cupcake Stand Kentucky Horse Racing Party Supplies Horse Racing 3 Tier Dessert Tower Run for the Roses Table Decorations for Equestrian Horse Theme Party Supplies cardboard three tiered tower to display cupcakes and baked goods at our Kentucky Derby party this year.This racing themed cardboard tower is made from heavy printed cardboard and is easy to assemble; the cross pieces slot into each other, and the large rounds attach easily. This is my first racing themed tower, but I’ve used similar towers for other parties; they take about two minutes to put together, and the three story stand is great for holding baked goods. You could also use the tower to serve hors d’oeuvres or other small things like rolls, fruit, or sandwiches. I just wouldn’t put anything wet on the cardboard, for longevity reasons.This tower is themed for the Kentucky Derby; there’s a horse and jockey on the top, and a horse and jockey design on the supporting center pieces. The large rounds have golden horseshoes and a red floral design around the edges. Strangely, the flowers don’t quite look like roses; the Derby is the famous Run for the Roses, and I expected the red flowers edging the cardboard trays would be roses. There are some rosebuds in the floral pattern, and some flowers might be roses, but there are also many red flowers that aren’t roses.The whole tower stands about 13” tall; the three round pieces are about 11”, 9”, and 6 1/4” tall.At the current price ($9.99) I think this is a fun, inexpensive way to serve cupcakes and other snacks at a Derby party. Over the years, we’ve noticed our guests love to indulge in mint juleps and other refreshments from the bar; I don’t have to worry about this cardboard stand getting knocked off the buffet by guests who had drink taken, the way I used to worry about my antique, heirloom silver stagers.For under $10, you get a cute themed cardboard stand, sturdy enough to hold a lot of baked goods. This looks very similar to the other cupcake stands I have, which I can wipe off, take apart, and store to use at another party.Great for Derby and Triple Crown themed parties this spring. I’ll be loading this up with my home baked cupcakes, topped with my Kentucky Derby themed toppers, shaped like ponies, jockeys, hats, roses, mint julep cups, and more.

This cupcake stand is sturdier than I expected, but you can’t fit a whole lot on the tiers. It takes a minute to figure out how to assemble it because no instructions are provided, but once assembled it looks great. Definitely a good item to elevate any Kentucky Derby themed party.
