This is an area that I am very well educated in. This is the only type of material I trust to use for my specific application. These gaskets do not give off any type of residue into any solvent or liquid that you might use. I have been using them for years and had zero problem with their functionality. There are two sizes of 2-in sight glasses that dernord may send you. One has a slightly larger glass inside of the stainless ends. The other one is a slightly smaller glass which fits these seals perfectly, you can just drop them in and put the sight glass back together. If you happen to get one that has the slightly larger glass it just takes a little bit of work to get it to fit. The other written review that I read when I ordered quite a few of these sight glass seal kits stated the individual could fit the gasket into the stainless or the glass onto the gasket but not able to put it all together. For the average person it would seem this would be the case. After shaving one sealed down to lessen the thickness of the outer wall it fit perfectly. The next several that I did I did not want to reduce the thickness of the seal kit so I simply tapered the end that goes into the stainless side by simply taking an exacto knife and cutting the edge at the base of the seal where the seal meets the stainless. I put the seal on the glass and added a little bit of dish soap, you could use WD-40 or any lubricant you choose. At that point I physically pushed the glass down as best I could and then repeated the same thing for the opposite side. After getting the stainless steel ends pushed as far onto the glass as possible I simply slid the all thread into all four slots and slightly tightened the outer nuts while leaving the inner nuts completely away from the stainless steel ends. At that point you tighten one stainless steel side at a time with the outer nuts in a cross pattern roughly half of a turn on each nut and it will slowly sneak the stainless over the seal. I did a little bit on one side evenly with a cross pattern then flipped it over and a little bit on the next side just the same until the glass was firmly seated up against the seal and the seal firmly seated up against the stainless on both sides and then of course Titan the inside nuts to ensure everything stays in place. I have done this with many other things and it does work every time. The only other alternative to make things a little bit easier would be to use a sander or a grinding wheel and just shave down the outer diameter of the seal so it fits with ease. I have had every one of these sight glasses above 120 PSI and over 100°. I have not had a single issue with any of them and I have been using them consistently for a very long time with these seals.

The first set came with significant molding defects. The replacement looks much better. It fits the glass and fits the housing, but it doesn't fit both at the same time. The silicone seal that comes with the sight glass is both thinner and more malleable. I've tried every way apart from removing material to get it fit together but no dice. Frustrating, since the sight glass isn't useful to me without these seals.

Gaskets material is good trim looks like it is done with a dull butter knife or maybe an almost sharp rock! One had a big gouge out of it where it was trimmed but still needed cleaned up other was normal just needing cleaned up..... I've found best way to clean up the excess material is with Dremel tool and grinding stone, pic with both gaskets has one cleaned up with Dremel and stone for better surface contact for good seal, last pic is type of stone used.

The seal itself is great good quality of manufacturing no defects perfect fit . The only problem is that the product add is for 2 seals but someone doesn't know how to count past 1 because that is all they ship to you 1. On a plus side they are friendly and willing to send out the missing item right away.
