Came dirty and rusted. Almost looks like someone put their old on back in the bag and returned it and that's what I was shipped. Very disappointing.

I saw reviews saying they got a black plate so I took the risk. Very happy. Ended up getting the silver plate latch, exactly as described in the listing. Those other reviewers must have been a fluke. Take the chance if you were like me and worried. My door is perfect now. Thank you

It didn't work for my door and I had to get a new latch to replace the Frankenstein latch sold at Lowe's who quit honoring their "lifetime guarantee." The Prime return and refund was immediate, and the product I returned was well made and reasonably priced.

From a purely aesthetic perspective, this replacement part arrived in a very “dirty” condition. As it was priced reasonably and checked out to be fully functional, I cleaned off the grime and installed it. It fully worked until the thumb set mechanism on the door handle failed. At that point, I made the decision to buy a new door handle!

Over the years, we've had the mostly-plastic "builder special" latches break, usually when trying to open a door. Great, go grab a screwdriver to take the doorknob apart and get into the room. I've been replacing these one at a time with a latch from my local hardware store, but after two of the broke in two days, I decided to replace every remaining latch (that I hadn't already replaced), so another 6 in all. These fit perfectly in my doors and were very easy to install. No fuss, no muss.
