The knocker looks very nice on the outside but bolt and screw included for the back is simply ugly. You would have to buy your own.

The front of this piece is, solid, heavy and attractive but I could not install it on my front door as the installation bolts screwed onto the back of the door knocker at such odd angles it was impossible to drill the two holes necessary to mount it. Even if I could, the bolts (which are aluminum and not brass) would have protruded through the interior side of my front door. A major manufacturing problem identified by other customers. Reluctantly returning for a refund.,

Great door knocker. I purchased it while our home was being rebuilt. Does anyone know where I can obtain replacement mounting hardware and instructions. Not sure whether I received the hardware/instructions or they were lost in the reconstruction. This is the door knocker I want to have on our front door and eager to get it installed.

The angled mounting bolts as noted by others are perplexing. If you're going through a solid oak door you're going to experience some stress.

I love it! Beautiful and heavy! It's larger than most, but fits my door perfectly and is exactly what I expected after reading other reviews. I am very happy with it. Did not have any problems installing it. I painted the small part of the screws that comes through the door with the same color as the door. You do not notice them at all!

This door knocker is very heavy and has a nice patina which is what I wanted. It looks better in person than in the photo on Amazon. I googled it online and found a couple better images. It is definitely a lion head but is serious rather than cheesy. The installation was pretty easy as we had a drill and were able to use one of the existing holes from the old door knocker that we removed. I would absolutely purchase this again and would recommend it to a friend. It also arrived very quickly and the packaging was appropriate for the product.
