Other people mentioned that this is a Yaesu knock off charger. What I received is a genuine Yaesu charger for my VX-8, see photo. Other reviews say you have to remove the battery to charge it, I do not have that issue. I just slide the complete radio with battery in the grooves and it charges perfectly. All in all I am very pleased, 20 bucks well spent.

Branded as vertex standard, it sure looks and behaves just like a factory charger. Incredible deal!

Reading the other reviews, I expected this to be a struggle, but it works great at what it was designed for... Charging the battery. Yes you have to remove the battery from the radio, but that's fine with me. It works just as I hoped!

Charger does not charge as described. Will not charge FT-2D, and power source is not enough current. Get the original one from Yaesu. Even when using power source that came with radio, the cradle output circuit is not strong enough.

Doesn’t really work. It won’t charge the battery with the radio sitting in the cradle, then if you only put the battery on it, it might work. Now it doesn’t work at all. Junk
