My steering was loose and had several components needing replacement. If you have to break down the steering system, it’s better to do it once. This kit has everything needed from steering box to spindle. I added a couple pumps of grease to each joint while putting it all back together. I also bought ball joint and pitman arm tools to make the job easier. It’s a lot of work but I think it was worth it. I feel like these are quality parts and I won’t have to worry about anything for years with proper maintenance.

So far everything looks great to my DIY eye. Tear down is almost done. But was going to do tie rod ends and control arms when I found out the pit man arm is not in the kit. So, I just spent more $$$ for a pitman arm at the local parts store. Hoping the rebuild goes smoother as YouTube is my best friend right now. Still saving money so far with the parts I have because it would still cost me 3 times as much otherwise.

Make sure this definitely fits your truck. Amazon said this was an exact fit for my 1998 K2500 pickup. I have all the specs saved in my amazon garage and it said it fit. Turned out my truck had a higher GVWR and none of the parts were compatible. I ordered the parts in advance so when my preferred mechanic could work on it he would have everything he needed to complete the job. After about two months my mechanic called for me to bring the truck over. Once he dug into the box it turned out all the parts were smaller than the original equipment. i contacted Detroit Axle and asked to return the parts, that are still in the original box and package. They informed me they only have a 30 day return policy and they would not allow me to return them. I even let amazon know i was not satisfied with their response but they have done nothing to resolve the issue. I had the parts less than 90 days.

Parts are really good quality. Comes with all the hardware grease points, codder pins etc.... As good if not better than OEM. Also my package showed up a week earlier than promised.Thank you!

The feel is not of amazing quality but the value is worth it for those looking to restore proper alignment and feel to their vehicles.I do not expect this setup to last forever. But itll buy me a couple years.Grease fitting are terrible. Idler came with an extension hose for the grease fitting on top. Which blew out immediately when trying to fill.
