What I disliked about the product is came with only one cotter pin, probably fell out on the way here box was all messed up and they don't ship to APO addresses. But other then that it was perfect fit and it works great 👍 my car is a 2000 Honda civic EK Hatchback. No complaints about the actual product. But please put in better boxes.

In December 2021, I looked at previous Q & A on Amazon, and asked again... to check that this kit would match a 1999 Civic LX with automatic transmission. This is my experience on a Civic with a VIN beginning 1HGE...My mechanic reported that the threads on the tie rods were insufficient. (They were off by just a few threads, compared to the original Honda tie rods).. As a result, he could not align the front wheels well enough. I am, however, giving 2 stars to my purchase for the following reasons:1. Buying the original Honda parts, IF I could find them, would cost me upwards of $400. I paid about half that. It is possible that Detroit Axle (DA) got the rack and pinion made to spec, but not the tie rods. I am not qualified to make a conclusive determination.2. After I explained the thread issue and sent my mechanic's photos for comparison, DA did try to see if the issue was the inner tie rods. They sent over a pair of inner tie rods, and my mechanic tried those, too. However, they were no better. In my mechanic's words: "The (original Honda, leaked) steering rack I pulled off had 4 threads showing on the right side and 6 threads showing on the left side. Given the new tie rod ends bottom out at 7+ threads, I am unable to complete a proper wheel alignment."3. My mechanic tweaked the steering column etc and managed to get the front wheels as close to alignment as possible. He tried all he could, given the constraints of the Detroit Axle tie rods. After all the labor costs and such, I did not want to spend more money returning/shipping the parts back to Detroit Axle.This was my experience, and it likely reflects what was shipping in the kit in late 2021. Versus, say, 2017 when other customers seemed to think it worked for their 1999 Civics. If DA changed suppliers in the meantime, that could have affected the fit.I did communicate it to Detroit Axle, too, so that they can check the specs on their aftermarket parts and suppliers.P.S. I do wish that Amazon would bring back the ability for us verified buyers and long-time customers to comment/reply to each other's reviews. At this moment, I cannot but wonder what has been the experience of other Civic 1999 LX owners who bought this kit. Did they use the tie rods supplied in the kit, or get tie rods from other sources/suppliers?

First. I have purchased multiple items from Detroit Axle and will again. The piece I found out today is some “small print” items around warranty. ***** the warranty has additional costs above the sale price.When I called on the failed component I was told first the lifetime warranty is only activated when they receive the core back. I did not find this anywhere in the paperwork and neither could the representative I was speaking to. The next piece I found out is the core return shipping must be paid for by the customer. They do offer an option to pay $80.00 for core and then they will activate the lifetime warranty. This is just the first extra cost. The next item I learned is the shipping cost to return the failed component must also be paid by the customer. These are good items to consider when calculating “Lifetime Warranty “ as a reason to purchase from this supplier.

This was not the right size for my car after It said It was smh very disappointed wasted 200$ on this to got to waste and i cant Return It either the rack was wayyy to short so top of that i have to get It through a shop now because I’m not trying to run into this problem again the part numbers were all correct but It was to short DO NOT BUY
