Real rubber on the inner tie rod, but outer zip tie needs removing before adjusting the outer tie rod, as the casing gets twisted up easy. Once all hoses and new reservoir installed AND bled with vacuum on reservoir return line, You enjoy the steering of a brand new car.

After installing back companion I now have sucking air somewhere I'm wondering if it's coming from the rack so now I'm purchasing a new power steering pump to see if that's where it's coming from it not I need to return this rack

This rack fit perfectly on a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country Limited 3.8L. The tie rod ends were good too. My steering is new again...and look....no leaks. For those brave enough to tackle this job, I will tell you that it can be difficult. I had never done a rack before. Thank you Youtube. It's easy enough to remove the tie rod ends. Make sure to count the turns and put the new one on the same number. The rack is only held in by 3 bolts. You have to remove the small oil cooler if equipped, and the bracket with a dozen large bolts. None of this is a problem. The bigger problem was....on this particular vehicle you have to take all the emissions box off to reach the lines on the top of the rack. It was knuckle buster to get the lines off and back on. I nearly cross threaded one in the process. Keep in mind to lock your steering wheel before removing the roll pin. Also take note that the shaft on the steering wheel only goes on one way....it's got a flat side (took me a while to notice that). I had to make a single turn to each rod to adjust steering afterwords, but the alignment was still fine. Good luck....Hope this helps.....
