Installed it and Took the vehicle For an alignment. Found out at the Shop that The Inner tie rod was “loose”. Filed a return.

Steering rack was easy to unpackage and install. Everything worked well once put together with the new steering rack. Do make sure you take measurements from old steering rack tie-rod end lengths to line-up old steering to new. Plenty of videos online to help with installation.

The rack and pinion only lasted about six months before it started to leak so bad that it would drain the whole power steering reservoir overnight. Contacted warranty, and they gave me the runaround. More or less, I had to pay for all shipping costs of returning mine and for shipping the new one to me, along with other fees. Not worth the $ or my time. I also don’t have time to mess around leaving my vehicle in the shop for several days (or possibly weeks) while I am waiting for parts that will likely fail right away again anyway. Will not be buying from them again. Buyer beware! If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Installed on 4/11/2021- Exact match and super easy swap out. I did a lot of work on the steering of my truck (2010 F150 5.4l 4x4). At the same time I replaced: rack and pinion, power steering lines, both hubs, both hub actuators, 4x4 vacuum solenoid, lower steering shaft and other non steering work. Everything was pretty well plug in play. I will update after a year or so. I did a brake job with Detroit Axle parts over a year ago and everything was still in great shape!

Bough a steering rack an pinion from Detroit's axle. The part was defective after I put it on an they tell me I can't return the part cause I put it on my truck..but theirs no way of tell if the parts any good until I installed it...an it is defective an they dont want to refund me..but it ok karma a bitch
