Your cart is empty.Devardi glass is a handmade, hand pulled glass that uses very ancient glass formulas. It is very saturated with color and the color remains very true even with high heat. The color of the rods are commonly the colors you will receive in your bead. Devardi is a stiffer glass than other COE 104 glasses, which can be very beneficial for decorations, encasing or sculptures. With different heat settings, most Devardi glass colors provide different effects. The opaques tend to mottle with high heat, resembling a marbled look, or remain the color of the rod with cooler flames. Different oxygen/propane mixes also can give different appearances. Devardi is generally a lower heat COE 104 glass. Once you become accustom to it, you will find it to be a great glass. Devardi glass rods are hand pulled, and therefore are not perfectly straight or uniform. And the rods will vary in width and length. But this does not affect the quality.

All the rods were lumpy and misshapen. Many have rocks inside and the glass takes a grey haze when melted.

I will never be purchasing glass off Amazon again. These rods are horrible, micro fractures all up and down the rod. Putting any sort of heat to the rod even in a very soft flame instantly shattered the glass and sent shards flying around the studio. Also the glass was not clear, when I was successful and got the rod to melt it went from clear to a dirty blue. Do yourself a favor and but glass from a real glass company not amazon

I don't like that the rods are irregular and full of bubbles .

While the review I wrote for the color soft glass pack noted the popping that others experienced with the clear, the clear behaved for me.The glass I received was as stated, handpulled and slightly irregular and fairly large sized rods (mostly 8-10 mm with some points on the rod that were thicker and others that were thinner). Some of the rods I recieved were broken which is the nature of glass and shipping. While I didn't have much popping with the clear glass, I did have some issues with the irregularities. There were some pretty flat spots on the rods which make it difficult for me to rotate while heating. It was also just plain odd to have such size differences in the same rod.I guess these are just personal preferences and not truly quality issues.

Several rod crack or shatter when heating. I have tried a slow heat and get hotter and I have just started hot. It doesn’t seem to matter a few seconds in, with some not all the rods, pop! The end comes off
