Purchased this for my 10 year old. They needed to go from right handed to left handed as they are EXTREMELY left eye dominant and their 1st now got to small for them to properly anchor and still have their nose touch the string. And yes while you can block,patch, or cover the left and and continue to shoot right handed, being able to shoot in the hand of your dominant eye allows for the archer to shoot with both eyes open and be a lot more consistent with their shooting. This bow has a huge range of adjustment. Both in draw length and draw weight. This allows just about anyone to use this bow. It's mass weight isn't to heavy but it's also not super light for a young kid so make sure your kid is able to hold the bow up. I did add a stabilizer to it to help the bow hold a little more steady for my 10 year old. More mass weight in the hand can help with pin float, again, just make sure that it's not to much. Now the first thing I did was get rid of the stock arrow rest, stock sight, and stock cable rod/slide. While they do function I choose to spend a little extra money and went with a better rest (PSE Phantom drop away), a sight made of better materials (SAS 3 pin sight with aluminum vs plastic/polymer sight adjustments), and I was able to find an older 3/4" bent cable rod that allowed me to adjust the position of the cables better. I have noticed that with the Diamond bows that have a large range of adjustment the cable rod is positioned really close to the rest and depending on the fletchings or vanes used the cables can make contact with them affecting the flight of the arrow. Using feather fletchings can help to mitigate this but, the only way to completely fix it is to replace the cable rod and go with one that has a slight bend in it. The bend allows you to slightly adjust the cables out of the way of the arrows path a lot better. I also changed the slide (as mentioned above) to a PSE roller glide. This makes for a MUCH smoother shot cycle with less stuttering along the cable rod. The only other thing that can be an issue is timing. Because the bow still has its stock string and cables (not all stock string and cables are bad), and because these string and cables are low end (since it's a beginner bow), they are prone to stretching and in a weird way at that. Any time the draw length or the weight is adjusted, I have to adjust the cam timing. Yes I make sure everything is adjusted evenly it's just a trait with bows that have lower end string and cables. My Evolve 35 doesn't do this when making any adjustments, nor does my Supra DM. I will eventually replace the stock set but that's a little further down the road. Overall this is a great bow that just needs a few minor changes to a few things. Now this bow is a discontinued model but is still available from dealers with "new" old stock that they haven't sold out of yet.

The main bow string is very frayed as new out of the box. I hope it holds. To restring this would cost more than the savings difference of their new price. Buyer beware of the quality control from Diamond.

This is a great bow, however ...Have an expert tune it up!! Come with just about everything out of adjustment, plus have the individual set you poundag.
