There was another comparably priced needle file set where a few users gave bad reviews because the set wasn't actually diamond coated. I decided to take a risk with this set even though it only had two reviews.This is my first set of needle files (diamond or otherwise) and to my eyes they SEEMED to be diamond coated (the way they sparkle in good light). But this has been confirmed as I've used them. Among other things I've filed down both tool steel and ceramic with them and they have worked perfectly! Very happy with this purchase!

The kit I received appears to have been a Return from a previous customer. The kit had been sealed with clear tape (like packing tape), but it arrived with the tape cleanly cut open and the package being held shut by a printed paper label (see photos).Then I found the fit and finish to be substandard. I had bought these for sharpening the teeth of the saw in a Swiss Army knife. As you might imagine, the space between the saw teeth is VERY small so I would only be able to fit the tip of the tool into the gap. I can't use these files because the tip is rolled over forming a small hook (see photo). So I am returning this file kit due to the poor construction.I will verify that these files are indeed diamond coated. They are very sharp, but they have a rather coarse grit. I was expecting a finer grit than what these have. I'd rate these as Medium to Coarse.
