It's a good tool to have around the house or office but not very accurate, specially at low airflow. It works well for the price, I could easily tell which of my HVAC vents had less flow than the others that was not detectable by just placing my hand and feel the air volume coming out. Took one star off since it doesn't measure CFM air volume which is one of the main functions of such a device.

I have wanted one of these for quite a while now, and now finally a very affordable version. I have no way to test the true airspeed, but the results seem to be accurate.The device takes a measurement reading with the propeller in the little cage, and a temperature reading through the little hole next to it. The temperature is very accurate, right on with any others the thermometers I have nearby, but I have no way to feed the device they known which speed to test that accuracy. I even tried sticking it out the car window at known speeds, but cannot control wind gusts in the other direction. As best as I can tell though, it is pretty accurate.Even if the device itself is not dead on down to the mile an hour, it is still very consistent, which makes it very effective as a tool. Even if the number isn't right, it will be the same at that speed every time.Overall, this is a great device to have on hand, there are multiple reasons to have one. This one is a very affordable, very functional version. If you have the money, and a good enough reason to have a very accurate model, of course you could upgrade. But, this device works great, and will not break the bank. Highly recommended.
