I had a previous centrifuge machine that only had one speed and it was spinning too strong for me. This is nice in that you can adjust the speed to your needs. You can also set a timer up to 60 minutes if you like. It is as loud as expected, similar to others I have used. It holds tubes that are 5-15 ML which is nice. Make sure you balance it properly if you don’t fill it completely prior to starting. The suction cups on the bottom are nice for securing it to a hard surface to prevent it from falling from the vibrations.

This is a fully covered bench top centrifuge with analog controls on the front panel. The left rheostat ranges from 0 to 4, with 4 being the equivalent of the unit's top speed of 4000rpm. The other settings don't correspond to actual speed, and the motor bogs down at lower speeds, so for instance if I set it to 1, the unit will stop spinning entirely in a few seconds. I couldn't measure the actual speeds, but my best guess is that the unit works well within the 2000-4000 rpm range. At high speed, there's quite a bit of motor noise, but it's quieter than a vacuum cleaner or blender even at that rpm setting. The right knob is a mechanical timer, but the timer is not linked to the power and there's no indicator that goes off at the end. So you can use the timer or not, and the motor will keep running until you turn off the switch. And if you use the timer, don't expect the unit to inform you when the timer runs down. There's no bell or anything. The lid is not interconnected for safety. If you want to lift the lid while the centrifuge is running at full speed, you can (but please don't). The unit can hold standard PRP tubes (test tubes), and for that purpose works perfectly. So it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it spins at high speed and has a simple set of controls that are intuitive to use.

A real handy tool. What I like about this centrifuge is that it is small enough to be on a desktop or vanity, does not take up much space and not” overly” heavy and attractive. Thank you for reading my review I hope it was helpful for you. May the rest of your life be the best your life. OZ

I am ever so grateful for this smaller sized centrifuge, it works just as good as a large heavy duty one. I like that it doesn't take up nearly as much space as most centrifuges. The distribution is great and everything makes me more productive in the long run now that this is up and running.
