It's a decent thermometer but it's slower than others one compared it to. Especially compared to the product info. It does seem pretty accurate, it just takes many seconds more to get to the same temperature the other ones do. I stuck these thermometers into a bucket of water I was heating up and this one definitely lagged behind.

Dual-mode F and C degree thermometer. I verified that the reading are quite accurate. Correct readings within the standard expected range for this device. Easy to switch between F and C with a click of a button. I really like the fact that I can do that. Some of my cooking recipes are in F, some in C, but ultimately I can always switch between the two modes. You can use this device beyond what it is intended for. For example, if you are to measure some circuitry temperatures, this device works great for that. In fact, when I hold it in my hand or on my forehead - it gives very precise readings too! Five stars.

This is easy to use and works really well, but it's a very slow read. Also, I've had one before that folded and that was really nice - this one doesn't do that.

If you need to check your meat or fish or chicken internal temperature this is a good one, works fast, it took fraction of a second to do the measurement, it comes with a battery installed

Took nearly 30 seconds to go from 70 to 193 when placed into a couple ounces of near boiling water in my insulated travel mug. Seems accurate but not exactly the fastest thermometer. Prob fine for most kitchen uses but probably too slow if you’re worried about losing heat on a grill or smoker if you’re going for a fast temp check with a lid open waiting for the results. Price is good for a general use digital thermometer though.

This thermometer works well. The display is clear and easy to read. I like that it automatically shuts off after 10 seconds. I do wish it had it listed what temperatures were recommended for various meats and that the the tip folded down into the handle. But, I still feel like this is a good product that will last for a long time.

As a thermometer, at least it's inexpensive and fairly accurate. It's definitely NOT an instant read class of thermometer.In a side by side test between this thermometer and 3 other actual instant read thermometers, it was within .5 degree F on the reading, which is just fine for accuracy.However, in a warm glass of water at 115F, while the true instant reads read within .5 to 1.5 seconds, this thermometer took time climbing to the 115F mark, and it took 10 seconds to do it. In a sub-boiling pot of water, this thermometer needed almost 20 seconds to read the 190F.So, in my book, this is just like a regular thermometer that you'd take your body temperature with, but has a wide range of temperatures from freezing to hot frying oil.It's also very inexpensive--which kind of excuses a bit. But if you in the market for a legit INSTANT READ thermo, for what all of us BBQ/Grillers/Cooks want, this ISN'T it.
