This device is what is keeping my Lithium batteries warm this winter and it has been working great. The device also retains its settings when the power is removed, so that is nice when my batteries drain and my inverter shuts down. The device was super easy to configure, even with the poorly written instructions. The temp probe is on quite a long cable, so locating the device away from where you are measuring is also possible. The unit works very well and has been accurate enough for my needs, and the cost was what I would expect to pay for a device like this. Overall I am happy with this purchase.

Review: Digital Temperature Controller Thermostat Timer Socket PlugThe Digital Temperature Controller Thermostat Timer Socket Plug is a commendable addition to any environment that requires precise temperature management, such as aquaculture systems, reptile habitats, incubators, and home brewing setups. Its versatility and user-friendly design offer a significant advantage for both beginners and seasoned professionals alike.Build Quality and DesignThe device showcases a robust design, featuring a plug-and-play architecture that makes it incredibly easy to set up. Its built-in safety socket is a thoughtful feature for homes with children, ensuring that accidental plugging in is prevented. The use of high-quality PC flame-retardant materials coupled with nickel-plated, highly conductive copper plates reflects a commitment to safety and durability. Additionally, the temperature controller operates with minimal heat, which is a plus for safety-conscious users.FunctionalityOne of the standout features of this thermostat is its dual-mode operation—supporting both heating and cooling. The flexibility is extended further with four distinct timing modes: cycle timer, countdown on/off, and a combination of countdown on and off. The wide setting range from 0 to 99 hours and 59 minutes is impressive, allowing you to tailor the timing precisely to your needs. I particularly appreciate the data storage function that retains all settings even during power outages, thus ensuring the continuity of operations without needing to reconfigure.Display and UsabilityThe large LCD display with backlighting is user-friendly and straightforward to read under various lighting conditions, which is particularly useful during nighttime operations. The ability to adjust how long the backlight is on—from 10 minutes to continuously—enhances usability even further. Operating the controller is simple, with a long press of the MODE button transitioning you into the desired mode effortlessly.VersatilityThis temperature controller is highly adaptable, with applications ranging from greenhouses to heating pads, incubators, and more, making it an excellent investment for anyone involved in temperature-sensitive environments. The ability to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit is also a small but significant feature that caters to different user preferences.PerformanceWith a power supply range of 100-250V AC and a maximum output of 15A/120V, the thermostat maintains a temperature control range of -40C to 120C (-40F to 248F). This broad spectrum ensures it can cater to a wide variety of situations, from the frosty conditions in aquaculture to the warm habitats for reptiles.ConclusionOverall, the Digital Temperature Controller Thermostat Timer Socket Plug is a solid investment for both hobbyists and professionals. Its blend of safety, functionality, and ease of use makes it a standout choice for anyone looking to maintain precise temperature control in their projects. Whether you're managing an incubator, a greenhouse, or brewing at home, this controller is sure to meet and exceed your expectations. Highly recommended!

All you should expect from a device like this is that it is reasonably easy to operate and it works accurately and reliably. I only tested this for an hour, but I tested all functions, and I was impressed with its ease of use and accuracy. I started with a cup filled with water, to which I would add hot and cold water to test that the relay engaged and disengaged at the proper temperature. Along with a digital display of the measured temperature, I also used my mercury lab thermometer in the test. It was initially in disagreement with my thermometer by 0.4 degrees C, but it is trivial to calibrate this, which I did, and then it reliably matched thereafter. You are able to toggle between C and F. In addition to the basic thermostatic functioning, where you can set the 'turn on' temperature and the turn off temperature. I did not think to set these temperatures for cooling, so I don't know fi that works. If anyone is interested, just ask the question and I will test it for you and give you an answer. Now, this device offers several timing options. You can have it cycle on and off per your defined intervals indefinitely, you can set it to simply delay a certain time before turning on, you can set it to delay a certain time before going off, and finally, you can set a delay before coming on followed by a delay before then going off, essentially a single cycle instead of an indefinite one. All of these are very intuitive to figure out on the device, once you know what these different modes are. The instructions made my head spin trying to decipher this, so either use this paragraph as your guide (I listed them int the same order as the manual), or just figure it out on your own with the device. Somewhere in the instructions it tells you to hold down 'mode' for several seconds to actually initiate the timing cycle you just set. This device does remember your setting when it loses power. The LCD display has no backlight. Also, you have to look at it from no more than15 degrees above a direct horizontal viewing angle or it will disappear.I would have given five stars except that it does not make it easy to remember to hold down mode to initiate a timer, and the same for holding down 'set' to toggle units of temperature. Granted, most people would try this to see what happens, but I still think the front of the device should help the user out, and not expect they memorize these hidden functions or expect us to hunt down the manual.

(Original review) Not real thrilled. Set it up today in my brooder for ON at 80º F and OFF at 90ºF. The thermometer at the far end of the coop reads 105ºF and the heat lamp is still on. Baby chicks don't mind, but still not very accurate, so far. If I wake up to baked baby chicks tomorrow morning, I'm going to be sorely annoyed. (Update: went outside at 8:30 and reset the thermostat 10ºF cooler. Next morning the temperature in the brooder was still over 100ºF. Chicks loved it. Me, not so much.)Directions are poorly translated from Chinese: ie: "Corresponding time scintillation alarm. Run state prohibition of switching timing mode." Very unclear.UPDATED REVIEW: Apparently the placement of the temperature sensor is critical, especially in areas where the heat is being provided by a heat source, such as a heat lamp. I experimented a bit with the placement and found the "Goldilocks zone". Now the heat in my brooder is just right. So, much better. It's doing a fine job regulating the temperature.(the directions are STILL poorly translated.)
