Nice, affordable little anemometer. Works well for testing fans, blowers, wind speed, etc. I plan to use this to check wind speed when doing bonfires to make sure it's not too windy. Normally I just wing it and guess when it's too windy, but now I can quantify that. It's also handy for testing the effectiveness of fans and checking for drafts. This isn't the highest quality anemometer I've used, but it does work well enough for casual use. The impeller moves freely but isn't balanced. You can see the heavy spot as it winds down after use. It doesn't seem to impact functionality, but it may not be super accurate. However, at the price point you can't expect perfection.

This anemometer is replacing an old La Crosse one that I've had for 15 years or so. So far, I am very well pleased with this new one.My main interest is using it as an HVAC tool to help in balancing airflow in various rooms. Here's what I like about this particular instrument:1. It has a large easy to read display, with excellent contrast. When holding it up to a ceiling register, this is of great benefit.2. It uses ordinary AAA batteries, and has a snap off battery cover, making it easy to remove the batteries when not in use. My old one used a 2025 coin cell, and one needed a coin to remove the battery compartment's cover. It was a pain in the neck to change.3. It has the ability to measure in Feet per minute, which is perfect for HVAC work. My old one didn't.4. The anemometer remembers settings when powered off. If set for Fahrenheit temperature, it remains set through on/off cycles. My old unit always defaulted back to Celsius.5. The instructions, which are straight-forward, are well written and easy to understand. The only negative is that this instrument does not come with a carrying case or bag. The anemometer's fan is delicate, and should be protected when not in use. A small annoyance, but not enough to knock a star off the rating. My only wish would be for there to be a camera-type tripod mount on the bottom. This would allow one to attach a stick for measuring air registers located on high ceilings or stairwells, or maybe mount on a mini-tripod placed on a desk to take maximum breeze readings in a workplace. I can't really say that this is a negative as other similar anemometers that I looked at lacked this feature as well.Overall, I'm very happy and think this product offers real value for money.

I like the simple layout of the keypad and the screen itself looks good. It has a color display and reports in MPH, m/sec, Km/h, ft/m, or knots. It has a min/max function, hold, and reports the current temperature. The instructions are thorough and specifications are included. Overall, I nice little unit with easy functionality and easy to read. The question I have with it is that the propeller or fan or whatever you want to call it that takes the wind measurement is loose and banging against something inside the walls. When I hold it up to a stiff breeze, it sounds like it’s off track and rattles loudly. I can’t imagine this not affecting the measurement.I put it in front of a fan about ten feet away and moved forward until it started rattling, which happened at about 9 MPH. It says it can measure up to 67 MPH but if it starts rattling at 9MPH, I can’t imagine what it will do at 60 MPH.This loose, rattling sound might be just normal operation. I really don’t know. I have no way to test its accuracy in a way that I can be confident it is correct. The instructions give it a tolerance of 3% or 0.4 MPH so maybe that rattling is only slowing it down by 3%? I would question that.I like the unit and if it didn’t run as rough, I’d be very happy with it. I might see if it can be adjusted to let it turn a little more smoothly. Anyway, that’s my experience so far.

Compact, accurate, easy to operate and read. I bought a second one so I can have one in each backpack. The display is easy to read, and is accurate. I put my car on cruise control and set the speed to 20, then 30 mph. I had a friend hold the meter outside the window, and it was within a couple mph for both readings. It has a peak hold function that is handy for gusty winds. Great product and fast shipping.

I am reviewing V-Resourcing store brand portable anemometer, which at the time of this review was $18. I wanted a way to verify HVAC work, by measuring air flow and using that with temperature to back-calculate if the units are in good working order. I like the portability of this unit, and the display is fairly easy to read. However, once it starts spinning up to a good speed, there is a pretty loud rattle/grinding sound, as if the thing is loose or has bad bearings. So I'm not sure if I can actually trust the numbers I see when it's doing this, as it would be adding errors due to the increased friction. I guess for very slow airflow I can still use it but kind of disappointing.

I like this little anemometer, but there are some things you should know.First it is very small - like almost palm of your hand small. That's not a bad thing, just an observation. I was surprised how small it was. Small can be good depending on your use case.It is quite sensitive, which also likely means quite delicate. It comes with a yellow rubber case. That will keep it from getting scratched, but the fan blades are not covered by this. If you just toss it into a tool box and something like a screwdriver stabs a fan blade then this would likely be ruined. It (annoyingly) uses CR2032 watch batteries instead of triple As. I have these on hand for heart rate monitor chest straps, but not everyone will. There is no off button. It just times out after you let it sit. I'm not a fan of that. That's going to run down your CR2032.It's a nice tool to have available, but the issues above need to be addressed to make it great.

Very inexpensive but well worth it. I always thought the wind was too strong to fly my mini drone but it’s only 5 mph so now I can fly more.
