We received updates about the progress and—even thought it took a couple of weeks—it was amazing to see some conversations and experiences from our youth, including a dear friend who died too young. If you have old videos in Hi-8, VHS, or other defunct formats, I recommend this service. It’s well-organized and easy to execute, and you can order extra copies or downloads if necessary. You can’t put a price on memories.

Used this for several family film reels and tapes. This was the cheapest option I could find to get several rolls of film digitized. Several other places charged by length of the roll. Good service overall, but the tape digitization wasn’t done very well the first time. Some of the videos ended up choppy. After resubmitting the media for re-processing (free of charge), they were able to get much better footage quality with a lot less choppy quality. Since I had to send the tapes back in, the processing time was doubled. If you have treasured family footage that you want done with the best quality and you’re willing to pay anything for it, find a local digitization service. If you just want to see what’s on your old tapes/film for a good price, Capture does a decent job and makes it easy.

I had a few old 8mm rolls of film which had many relatives who had long passed away on them so I was nervous about sending them off just anywhere. I read lots of reviews and decided on this company. I’m SO happy I did, in just 3 weeks I had my digital copy and had my family in tears watching it. Thank you for providing such excellent, fast service at a fair price.

Great gift for my mom that has ton of old VHS home videos. This was very easy to submit the old videos. Great communication on progress and when being returned. Downside, it is expensive when you have a lot

Capture and Legacybox are the major players in the digitizing of media and both companies offer excellent hi-res scanning. Because of the size of my order, I split it between the two companies.Capture- completed work in several days, no recurring charge and no hidden charges.Legacybox- I thought they lost my order but it was completed after several months. there are hidden annual charges and a signed form is required to stop. The digitized work of both was excellent but Capture prioritizes honest quality work and will be the only company I use in the future.

I have a lot of photos, slides, VHS tapes and home movies that I'd like to preserve but also make it easier to share with family so I thought this is a great idea to do all of that. So far, directions have been clear and easy to follow. The service is great because I can even preserve things that I can't even view anymore. To me, this is an invaluable service and even if we can't preserve everything, most is better than none. Everything is ready to send and I will update when I get my USB thumbdrive back and view it!

I ordered the 10 item time capsule kit. Some of the vhs-c were not transferable according to Capture.com so 7 out of the 10 vhs-c were not transferable. Because I ordered the time capsule kit instead of paying for each media separately, Capture.com will not refund me for the media they did not convert. Instead they offered me a credit instead. I do not want a credit as I'll never use there service again. I paid $218 for the kit of which only 3 media were converted and one was sent back damaged, which it wasn't damaged when I sent it.

I will update my review if needed when my images are digitized. I am currently reviewing the process of sending them in.We were recently evacuated. While we have had our home movies digitized in the past, we have lots of old pictures we have not had done. I got the two item service, which was a total of 50 pictures. They send bar codes, a box and packaging and a return label. Once you have the pictures selected, it was a very easy process. It’s important to note that the pictures go to your google account. I would prefer an option for Amazon Photos, since I have unlimited photo storage there, but I can manage that myself once they are updated. If you want a thumb drive or other storage solution, that’s an upgrade. It is made easy for you but having bar codes you can stick on the box to upgrade.
