The hum-cancelling DiMarzio Ultra Jazz™ takes a traditional Fender® Jazz Bass® sound and really opens it up. Lows are deeper, highs are more percussive, and the mid-range is round but not muddy. Harmonic overtones jump off the strings. It's also quick; with instant response to either fingers or pick-style playing. There’s only one word for this combination of qualities: "musical". Choose the perfectly matched Ultra Jazz Pair, or try an Ultra Jazz Bridge pickup with a Split P™ in the middle position. Recommended for Bridge position. The Ultra Jazz Bridge was designed to fit the bridge position of the original Fender Jazz Bass, which has neck and bridge pickup cavities of two different sizes. Some current basses use the same length pickup in both positions. Please refer to the dimensions link for the correct choice for your bass. The appearance of the Ultra Jazz™ is traditional, but the wide dynamic range and frequency response of the hybrid magnetic structure allows both vintage and modern sounds. As with the Model J™, hum canceling is achieved with each coil sensing a pair of strings, rather than a stacked design; even with a relatively high DC resistance figure, the Ultra Jazz™ has very strong, percussive highs and clean lows. Specifications Output: 250 mV DC Resistance: 12.3k Magnet: Alnico 5 & Ceramic Wire: 4 Conductor Installation Guide Pickup Dimensions

I originally had a Seymore Duncan Quarter Pounder (for the bridge position specifically) on my 2006 Aerodyne Red P-Bass (P/J pickups). It sounds great, nice and loud for sure. But the cycle hum made it very difficult to focus on playing or hearing the notes without grinding my teeth. This DiMarzo DP148 Ultra Jazz Bridge Pickup was a wonderful pick that I wish I had done much earlier. These are not stacked humbucking pickups, but split side-by-side pickups that completely cancel out the annoying cycle hum. I feel like a fool for not dropping them in sooner! And YES, they go great in a P/J setup with the Seymore Duncan Quarter Pound P-Pickups. Which substitute and cover the lesser middle sounds of the J-Bridge.Pros:Clean soundGood Highs and LowsEasy to setup (with some soldering involved)Cons:Might not be for everyone for the "sound" they are looking for.Lower middles make certain notes a little weak.

Super clear sound with a punch! We installed them along with the DiMarzio DP127 Split P Neck (ASIN:B0002GL97K) -second picture- using standard P-Bass wiring with CTS pots, copper shielding and the combination its amazing!!

Very bright sound. Brighter than I wanted, but very clear.

I bought the Dimazio dual coil jazz pickup to replace the factory stock single coil bridge pickup in a Squire Jaguar bass because of the hum. I paired them with a Seymour Duncan quarter pounder P pickup and am very happy with the results.

Good, pure sound. It seems to be a little bit bigger to fit exactly the slot of a generic bass guitar.

Fits Squire Short scale Jag without modification. Quiet, goes great with the stock p pickup. Took 20minutes to solder and install. Use the foam from original pickup.
