I inspected each part of each set visually, looking for defects. I found no imperfections. Then I put them together and turmed them in the palm of my hand: smooth. Then after I installed them in my recumbent stationary bike I was equally satisfied that they were about as good as they could possibly be.Be sure to pack them with general purpose lithium grease during installation.

I used this item to replace worn out bearings on my 25 year-old touring bicycle. They were and exact replacement and the fit was excellent. The bearing races were a challenge to install as they are a very tight press-fit into the frame, but that is as it should be. I inspected the bearings themselves for manufacturing flaws before I installed them and they were flawless. After installation, my bike was back to good-as-new, and I am once again a happy rider.

I normally don't like to write reviews, however I felt compelled to write a couple of comments regarding this item. this Dimension American bottom bracket, for a one piece crank exceeded my expectations for quality and performance. I read some how-to procedures on-line. The most difficult part of the remove and replace process was the removal of the original bracket. Once the old parts were removed, replacing the old bracket with the new bracket was very intuitive. However, I must warn the reader that no instructions come with this product. Also, one may needed to purchase automotive grease for the bearings. I will finish by saying this item was of excellent quality and it's performance far exceeded my expectations.
