I used this relay module to allow a smart sprinkler control system (Rachio) control older high-amperage solenoid valves. The valves required a higher amperage to operate than the Rachio box can output.By using this relay, the Rachio is able to use its own transformer to out 24VAC to power each "zone", with each zone being a channel on this relay. On the output side, the valves are connected with their own higher-amperage transformer 24VAC transformer.In all my searching, this was the one of the few multi-channel relays that was able to accept 24VAC on the input/control side, most are only able to accept 24VDC.Everything works perfectly and instantly, and this relay was much cheaper than having a plumber change out all the old valves on 3/4" copper pipes. The only downside is that the Rachio won't know if there's a fault in one of the zones as that would be past the relay, but it's not something our old control box was able to detect anyway.
