I use turps from portugal as well as diamond G. they're both really expensive, and the turpentine from home depot is completely intolerable (disgusting odor that will wear you out). I ordered this stuff just to see which it was closer to, and it has a surprisingly light piney smell. I don't know if it's as bright and clean because it's hard for me to tell the difference in the short term (the aromatic qualities overwhelm your sense of smell and make it difficult to tell), but it is very promising for me for varnish making and as a solvent for finishing waxes.

ordered a gallon and this is the best pure gum turps for the price. It arrived even faster than expected and was filled to the brim! Many companies try to speak negatively of turpentine because it's cheaper for them to sell petroleum-based solvents. Nothing beats Turpentine for what it does! It is stronger than mineral spirits and works great with oil. I recommend pouring this into a glass bottle, It smells even better!

Ordered a gallon and received 4 quart cans, which to me is preferable to a single gallon container. The turpentine is water clear and has a clean pine scent - exactly what I would expect from genuine turpentine. I'll be using it for its solvent properties in various applications.

I don't write reviews but had to this time. I used this product to thin Polymerized Tung oil for a redwood project. This turpentine dissolved quickly and evaporated quickly and cleanly. The best, cleanest turpentine I have used. This picture is after a heavy first coat.

I called, haven't heard back from them. I was unable to get the cap off in the traditional manner; press down and turn (wasn't working)...Used pliers to remove the offending part and was finally able to use the screw cap under it......poor customer service.......You will also have to pay return shipping.....
