I acquired this base for my spinning tops. It is highly polished and smooth. I don't notice a significant improvement of spin times from lesser quality lenses that I have used to spin my precision tops (3" concave lens, 3" mirror, 4" concave mirror).Quality is good, and weight is solid. The only negative is that only one side is concave.I'll keep it but I don't see the point of spending this much on a base that works just as good as ones much cheaper.

I got one of those small spinning tops because I guess I am a gadget person. I started looking for a spinning "surface" but everyone I saw had a flat surface. That is fine if you a consistent in getting the top to spin in one space. It seemed like a convex surface would make more sense as it would tend to naturally guide the top to the center of the circle.It took a lot of searching but I am pleased that I found this product. It was just what I was looking for. It and the top sit on my breakfast table where I can set the top to spinning while I am eating. And it does, in fact, tend to direct the top's spinning to the center of the disc.

Exceeded my expectations! This spin base is well made and looks elegant. I was able to achieve 15 plus minutes spin on some of my favorite precision tops. (^_^)/

I tried a few other over the years, but there's something about this one that makes it work so much better. Might be the angle of the glass but it makes the Spinning Top balance so well in the center of it, that it just spins for ever... well, for much longer then any other surface I've tried.It also looks very good. Un like other glass "lances" sold on here, It is well polished all the way around.

Good size and nice to look at. The size allows for more aggressive spins, resulting in better spin times. This is a good addition for any high-performance top!

Anyone who is into spinning tops should have one of these spin bases. I got two and I'm very happy with it. It has a high polish and rounded edges making it very beautiful.

Beautiful, smooth, clear, and satisfyingly weighty. Has nicely beveled edges on both the top and bottom, so no sharp corners. Even came with a small cloth for wiping smudges!
