It did not even begin to expand the 2" exhaust pipe I needed larger. I used a large ratchet and then my powerful air impact gun. This tool did not change the diameter of the pipe at all.I returned it immediately.

It works great after fixing it.So I tried it as is and the dies locked together. Had a heck of a time getting them to separate. What I found was the sliding/mating surface had heavy machining marks in what I would call the wrong direction. I sanded them smooth with a die grinder and some 120, then polished the edges over with a scotch bright type polishing wheel then a few drops of assembly lube.Works great now

I have been using this on a hydraulic punch to avoid stripping the threads with an impact. They kind of work, but there is not a good fit for 3 inch pipe. I needed to use a smaller one to get it inside and by the time it got big enough to make a slip fitting, the pipe was turning into a rounded square. If the adapter binds despite being lubricated, I still needed to tap on it with a hammer or concrete floor to knock it loose.

The expander I needed to use was not machined proper so I returned it.

Got this to replace a unit I broke. Solid construction, impact ready. Would absolutely purchase again if I break it.

Upon opening, I picked up the drive assembly and was immediately stuck with a metal splinter. The drive bolt was covered in thin, sharp metal shavings. Everything in the kit was pretty dirty from manufacturing and lack of cleaning before kitting. I quickly found that the drive bolt is not hardened as upon first use, the threads were damaged. I had to disassemble, clean up the damaged threads, reassemble, and use more grease than should be necessary. I was able to finish my project and it did an OK job, but the manufacturing process needs to be better and they should use a hardened drive bolt. I returned the product due to damage on first use. If you buy this, I highly recommend thoroughly scrubbing all parts, but especially the drive bolt, and use a brass or steel brush to remove any debris and shards. Also use wheel bearing grease or other heavy grease, liberally, on the drive bolt for each use. The kit does include several heads for various diameter tubing/pipe, which is nice.
