I am using this as a pet bed for my large cat. It is super comfy and plush and he LOVES it. This is intended to be a car seat for a small dog and comes with an adjustable strap to secure this to the headrest and two loops (straps) on the bottom for your seatbelt to go through to secure it to stay on the seat. This can be "installed" in the front seat of your car or the backseat. It also has a strap for you to connect it to your dog's harness for their safety and to keep them inside this car seat for their protection. This pet bed/car seat was super easy to put together and you basically just need to open it up, unfold it, and put the thick foam middle piece in it. This is a very comfortable, soft, plush feeling pet bed/ pet car seat. My cat absolutely LOVES it, snuggles in it, paws it, and sleeps for hours in it. It makes a very nice pet bed and is completely washable if/when needed. That is a definite plus! We haven't needed to wash it yet. Another good thing about this is using the brush attachment on the vacuum hose, it has been very easy to vacuum kitty's cat hair off of this. That's definitely another plus! Overall, we REALLY LIKE this and my big 16 pound cat REALLY LOVES his new bed! (He can't fit into regular cat beds, so we get him small to medium dog beds). He gives this 2 paws up!

As a bed, this unit is super comfortable, and was adopted immediately by our mental Tortie, who usually doesn't like anything. But we're using inside our house, not in the stated car application. And honestly, we just don't think this is the greatest idea for a dog or cat in a moving vehicle. You're supposed to have a harness (not supplied) on the animal, and then have that connected to the bed. But what happens if/when you have to brake suddenly, or even worse, get into an accident? The animal is going to get launched forward and then jerked backward by the restraint, and could end up hanging outside the bed. Not something we want to try. In any case, it's a super nice bed, really nicely made, and for home use, highly recommended.

This product needs a little reworking. The biggest problem is that it is not designed to have a good working anchor to attach to dog to the unit. It lets you secure the bed to the car. But to get the dog harnessed to the bed area you have to get creative. It comes with 2 straps but no great way to clip in the dog. The strap supplied to try to do this has no instructions and is too long to really work. The padding on the base also sits so high and is hard to compress down. Because of this the centrifugal force on turns really pulls the dog around too much. Positives are that the material is very nice. It’s also super bulky. Could be great, but product is not designed well for the price point.

Soft, fluffy, makes me feel better about taking my little one in the car. She usually insists on being in my lap and she drools and everything. It’s built well for a standard “small dog” but probably wouldn’t hold a chunky pup as well without some extra help.

Great purchase! Doggie car seat allows dog to see out of window while the safety harness/strap keeps him safe. Well padded.
