How to train your dog?

The first step is to hold the bell close to your puppy’s nose. Once the puppy touches the bell, say “yes!” and give the puppy a treat. If needed, you can encourage the puppy to touch the bell by holding a treat behind it or dabbing some peanut butter on the bell. Repeat until your puppy readily touches the bell with his nose, always giving lots of praise and a treat. When he confidently touches the bell as soon as you present it, add a word such as “touch” or “bell.” Start to hold the bell a little farther away, so the puppy has to make a few steps to touch it.

Once your puppy has learned to touch the bell on cue, use 3M double-sided tape to stick it on the door or wall where you would like for your puppy to go out. Encourage your puppy to touch the bell, and as soon as he does, say “yes!” and treat. Repeat until your puppy readily touches the bell when you give him the cue. Reward him and give him very enthusiastic praise!

Note: Some dogs will pick up these steps more quickly than others. It may take a few hours, a few days or even a few weeks depending on your pup.

Step three is teaching your puppy to ring the bell at the right time. Approach the door with your puppy, point to the bell, and say your cue, “touch” or “bell.” The moment he touches the bell, say “yes!,” open the door, and take him outside. With repetition, your puppy will learn that when he touches the bell, you will open the door.

If your puppy begins to ring the bell just to go outside to play, you need to teach him that ringing the bell is only about potty time. When he rings the bell, clip on his leash, and take him to the place where you want him to eliminate. Give him a few minutes, and if he does his business, praise and give him a treat. If he does not, take him right back inside. Over time, your dog will learn that ringing the bells means the door will open and they can go outside to relieve themselves!

We had high hope for the basic function of the device. Unfortunately, it’s just not tentative enough to trigger a ‘ring’. My dog can paw and lick aw at it and not hit the sensor. At times I try with my hand and it still doesn’t trigger.The ring was nice with dozens of ring tone options when it works- it also connected to my phone/iwatch for easy alerts.With 4 out of 5 pushes not actually triggering a sensor, it’s a no for us. Great concept, just needs more work.

It’s a great product it works exactly like I thought it would but since I have multiple buttons for multiple places and doors I think it would be great if the app would tell you where the dog is ringing from instead of just getting a “Doorbell Call” notification and then having to either go on the app find the settings then look up which bell it came from or having to physically find the dog it would also be great if you could just buy more buttons without having to buy another hub

I researched several. My dog is 9 months old and pretty smart to pick up tricks and tasks. The only think she did with this after intense training was knock it off the door. Very disappointed

I was under the assumption that it would work with Amazon and SmartThings and it doesn't work with either of those it will text you if you want it to but it's like $6 for a hundred texts and if your dog is like mine then only lasted about 2 days what a rip off

It worked great in Texas, even during heavy rain: one outside and one inside the back door. My puppy can let me know when she needs to go out or come back in. Even with headphones, I can get a notification on my phone/watch, so I know that even if I don't hear the bell ring. It was easy to set up since I already had the Smart Life app.

This isn’t specific to this product because this is my second dog doorbell brand/product I’ve had and they all do the same thing. They work great at first then after a few months, they stop working. Like even me tapping it multiple times does not activate it. Idk what happens but I need a solution that works long time.
