Overall this product is pretty sturdy and does a good job at keeping my dog inside. I mainly use it when trying to teach my dog new things as he easily gets distracted and goes away. Although my dog is on the smaller side it still does a great job at keeping him inside and really does help keep his focus on me and what I'm trying to teach him.

Excellent play pen for smaller dogs. I have been beyond happy with performance of this gate, it is easy to assemble, and move around when needed. In review it asks if decent for travelling and I would say no it is kind of large and heavy to pack up and take along Imo. My dog only weighs 15 pounds, and this works perfect for her with no worries of escape. Definitely recommend.

We got this to take with us when we go camping for our two dogs (one 40 pound jack russell mix, one 70 pound basset hound mix). Here are the pros and cons:Pros:- Easy to assemble- Only one way to add each panel so they can't be installed upside-down- Gate opens easily (but one of my dogs refuses to step over it)- Solid material that feels very durable- Multiple configurations available- Quite tall, even my 70 pound dog doesn't have interest in trying to get out of itCons:- Comes with grommets that you have to install that seem like they will easily get lost especially if you are transporting this a lot- There is nothing to store this in when you are transporting unless you want to keep it in the box which is cumbersome so I would recommend getting a carrying/travel bag if you intend to move this a lotI'm excited to see how this works out for us when camping season officially starts.

This metal pet playpen is the real deal! I am so glad I found this rather than paying double or even triple at the pet store. All the pieces are nice and strong, and when it is assembled, there is no chance of it tipping over. I pet-sit at my home, and this is perfect to keep the little pups in that need to be contained for short periods of time. Item arrived 5 days after order. This pen is heavy duty, with a thick, solid frame. Overall quality is excellent. It has some unique features. It is larger and heavier than most pens. When set in a square configuration it is 5 feet long on each side, where most pens are 4 feet. Most ex-pens come assembled, and you just unfold and clip 2 ends together. This one must be assembled by putting long rods through connectors on each side of the panels, which is very easy to do. This is actually just what I was looking for, since I wanted to use it as a stand-alone baby gate. By assembling only 3 panels, it suits my purpose perfectly, as pictured. Assembly is not permanent, you can pull the rods back out to disassemble for storage or use less panels for a smaller footprint. Most ex-pens are made completely of wire, but this pen's frame is thick, solid metal. My dogs are small, but I think this pen would hold large dogs better than the standard wire pens. It is also much heavier to lift, and does not fold like a standard pen. You have to take it apart to store or move it very far. It would be good for use in the home but not so much for travel.There are a couple of design flaws. The gate door latch is flimsy and requires a fair amount of jiggling to operate. The long rods that hold the panels together have no “stop” on the bottom and are longer than the panels are tall. So if you move the assembled pen around, the bottom of the metal rod drags on the floor. It makes a track in my carpet, and I think it would scratch a wood floor. These rods need a rubber tip for the bottom, or need to be shorter so they don't reach the floor. I do recommend this pen, as long as you don't plan to move it much.EDIT: I found 0.14” vinyl end caps to cover the bottom of the rods to protect flooring.

While one part of the product description page says this playpen is made of polyester (see photo), it is definitely metal as described elsewhere and in one of the videos. While this makes the playpen very sturdy, it also makes it rather heavy, as in not really portable.On the other hand, the fit and finish of the playpen is very good, with a nice black coating on the metal, and plastic feet on each section to protect flooring. The extra special thing is that the metal rods (like shish kebob skewers) use to hold the sections together are very long and so can be used to stake the playpen into the ground if used outdoors. See the installation video on the product description page for more info.The other video on that page starts off a little misleading, with a playpen that has 10 sections compared to the 8 in this playpen. The section with the door also only has one latch, compared to the two latches in this playpen

This metal play pen is exactly what I was looking for for my new puppy. This is sufficiently tall and sturdy. Easy and intuitive to put together. Not super light weight, but that's good in my opinion. Still portable; it just requires more effort. The stakes that are used to secure the sections together are long and could easily be inserted into the ground if you were to use this outside, which I definitely will be doing. You can set this up in so many different ways; it's a very versatile dog play pen.
